Hiada and Nisi make good all glass graduated 100X150 filters. Pricy but less expensive than some Lee's that are plastic and they are reasonably good with little no color shift. B+H carries Nisi and you can get Hiada from Amazon. B+H also carries Format Hitech at a little higher price.

Another vote for the Nisi system. Their system comes with a built in CP. They are a little more expense, but the quality is excellent.

I'm in the middle of an excellent course on Photoshop for Lightroom users by Matt Kloskowski. As he explains some of the tools available he will suggest they are "holdovers". Once a tool has been established at some point in the past, Adobe can't remove it for fear of angering devotees of that tool. The Tone Curve tool is one that Matt suggests is one of those. New tools, or improvements to other tools, have made the Tone Curve less desirable.

Regarding Color and Detail, it varies a lot from image to image. Higher ISOs and lower light produce "color noise" in the shadows. When you look for it, it is obvious. To use the tools, slide them around and see what they do. If not much or you just don't like it, reset that slider.

I agree that Matt's courses in fantastic and well worth the small investment. He is an excellent instructor and the videos are yours to download and keep. I've referred to them many times when I've had Lightroom questions. I'm just starting the Photoshop course.

After reviewing/comparing Nisi vs Formatt, I'm now leaning more to the Nisi V5 system. I know nothing about Cokin so i will research P-series will keep you in mind after.
Thanks for your reply.

I just purchased this:

https://www.amazon.com/NiSi-System-V5-PRO-Generation-Starter/dp/B01N0ZTDCH

B & H didn't have the second generation kit. I saw several people using Nisi filters in Iceland and it is a quick easy kit to use. Also comes with a very well engineered CP as part of the kit.

You're not the only one done with Apple. Trey Radcliff was a long time Apple guy; read what he says here and what he ended up buying.

I've used Borrowlenses several times and always had a good experience. Seems like both get many positive reviews, I'd go with the least expensive for you.

I've taken a few Lightroom courses and this was, by far, the best:

http://mattk.com/category/lightroom/

Matt was an instructor for Scott Kelby and went off on his own. He's also starting a Photoshop course soon.

It's not free, but you can download it and proceed at your own pace.

For those of you who would really like to learn about Lightroom and it's various capabilities, I highly recommend Matt Kosklowski's new 'Ultimate Lightroom Course' which is now available. He breaks things down into manageable bites in his easygoing/informative style. For those who are accomplished in LR, his tidbits and insights to shortcuts and little known capabilities will surely add to your repertoire. It's a must have in my opinion! And yes, his first video module is about the library and cataloguing which is critical in understanding your workflow! :) You won't regret buying it.....

I second this - I've purchased the course and it's great. Matt K. is a very good instructor and the course is extremely well designed and easy to understand.

Thanks joehel2 - that's exactly the type of information we were looking for; all of the operators have nice websites, but we were looking for information from someone who had actually been on a tour. Many thanks.

I was in Iceland this past March 2016. http://arcticexposure.is/ is the tour company I traveled with. The operator is Skarpi Thrainson, a native born Icelander, and professional photographer. I had my first tour to Iceland with him in February 2014 and I traveled with him and Iurie Belagurshi in Sepember 2014. Iurie is the tour operator who runs the two companies in your post. If I went back to Iceland, I would go with Skarpi but you really can't go wrong with either of them.

My wife and I are planning a trip to Iceland in March of 2017. We leaning towards these two companies for our photo tour. Does anyone have any experience with either of these? We're really not interested in renting a vehicle and wandering around on our own. Thanks in advance.

Why go though all of the gymnastics of trying to find them; just restore the photos from your backup.

Big deal - Apple's profit was 18 billion or $80,000 per minute for the quarter. Makes me smile when I see people protesting "big anything" profits while texting on their IPhone.

I am nearly 80 and if I can handle this new OS, anybody can, just get on with it and stop looking for something to criticise just for the sake of it.
Just because it looks different to XP, Vista and W7 there is no need to condemn Win10 out of hand.
