Twice in the past few months, the oil burner wouldn't turn on. Since I heat with wood, it wasn't a big deal, but I like having hot water. The oil burner is in its own little room in what used to be the garage. The former garage is now the TV/Computer room. I have a table set up next to the oil burner door, and on that table, I have two coffee makers, battery chargers, and other stuff. Getting into the boiler room is a big deal because it involves moving lots of things.

As you oil burner people know, there is a red button on the oil burner. If it doesn't start, you push that button, and it should start. That's what I did the last two times it wasn't working, but I had to move the table and everything on it. I've been thinking about an alternative method.

Since the button is oriented horizontally, it gets pressed straight down. A weight on a string could do that with me outside the room. Maybe a lever system consisting of a couple of sticks could push the button without me having to remove the table and everything on it. It's something to think about. First, I'll have to see how many pounds/ounces of force are required to press that button. That will be a starting point. Maybe I could use an electric solenoid. If only Rube Goldberg were still alive. He'd love a project like this.

If any of you would like to offer suggestions, I'd be glad to hear them.

I noted, starting yesterday, that Sharpen, when invoked moves my screens around. No recent downloads/upgrades to Sharpen I use a MacBook Pro and a 27" LG external monitor. I run Lightroom on the laptop and Photoshop, where I do any extensive work on the larger monitor. If Sharpen is to be used, I invoke it in Photoshop. When I open it, Lightroom screen moves to the larger display. It will not move back. I must close it and reopen it to get it back into the correct position. Maddening when moving through a large number of images.

I have reported this to Topaz-no answer as yet.

Anyone experiencing this? Any solutions?

Okay, this is a puzzlement. Using Lightroom classic v11.3, updated 2 days ago.

This morning I went out and took some shots, imported them in LR and did a little editing with Luminar Flex (my utility of choice) - same as I have been doing for months. While shooting, I also used an app called GPS Tracks on my iPhone to record my locations - same as I have done for years ever since learning about it from one of the nice folks here.

Moments ago, I started up LR again (after quitting it without incident before lunch) and added the GPS coordinates from the file I exported from GPS Tracks - as I have been doing for a couple of years. No problems.

But now, here's the thing: now I cannot perform any external edits with any of the tools - note the screenshot attached - everything is greyed out for some reason. SO then I selected a few I don't want to delete them, and for the first time ever, I do not see the option to delete from disk, only remove from LR. So, again, WHAT??!!


Has anyone who took this latest update from Adobe had this problem perchance? I remember they introduced a bug a few updates ago where if you went to the Maps module after having imported anything, LR would just quit unexpectedly. But they did fix that an update release or two ago...and while I have previously successfully imported and then directly added GPS coordinates, as it happens this time I quite LR before lunch and after returning started it up and did the GPS stuff - then returned to the Develop module to continue the editing.

So -again - anyone experience this recently?
