Are you using the popup flash or an on-camera speedlight?
Get your subjects farther from the backdrop/wall. Use off camera flash with an umbrella or softbox. Others will certainly give you more detailed instructions.
I only have the pop-up flash that's built into the camera.
What is a good (reasonably priced) flash for a Nikon 7100 that I hope to buy? I now have a Nikon D80.
I will soon be taking photos of individual children for VBS.
I have done this before but had an outline shadow on the right side of the figures. I shot some of these with a flash and some without. How can I avoid this and shoot nice clear photos?
Thanks
Chris
To solve this Px...take your camera.
Where do I find your PM? I'm still plundering this website.
Thanks
chris
What is an AF Nikon? What is AF? Sorry, but I don't know all the lingo.

I clicked onto your website photos. I don't have a macro lens. I have always wanted to photograph shots as detailed as yours. Thank you for sharing.
I have a Nikon D80 and I'm thinking of getting a Nikon D7100 My lens are Tameron 28-300mm, Nikon 55-200mm, and 18-55mm. I also have a Promaster Spectrum 7 Extension Tube that the photo store recommended I buy to take pictures of jewelry for insurance purposes. I still can't get a clear shot of my rings, etc.
What would you suggest? I am a novice who loves the camera world.
Thanks
Chris
Redfordl,
I also downloaded the 8.5 free Perfect Photo suite. I do not have any Lightroom series, nor know how to use them.
I'm also wondering whether to order the upgraded version. Since I do not know how to use any of these, what is your suggestions on which one is more user friendly and more bang for the buck?
Scott,
AWESOME photography. How can I do this?
Hi, I'm looking to buy the Nikon D7100. Do you like yours? I have an old Nikon D80 with a Tamron 28mm-300mm lens. I have the Nikon 18mm-55mm that came w/ the camera and a Nikon 55mm-200mm. The 28-300 pretty much stays on my camera. I was going to go for the D7100 body only and use these lens for now. Any suggestions?
Can I use the same battery, etc. in the D7100? I talked to girl at Best Buy and she said that everything was compatible, but my husband talked to someone at a camera shop and was told that the same battery will not work. If I need a different battery which one is best for longer use?
Any advice that you can give would be appreciated.
Thanks, Chris
Welcome. I am new here also. I'm from Spartanburg, SC and enjoy gardening, so I enjoyed your photos. The folks here are very helpful. I'm still learning.
What camera do you shoot?
Yes, it's a most helpful site. It's wonderful that so many photographers are willing to exchange and share info with others. There is so much that I need to learn. I love photography even though I'm not very knowledgeable. I've been reading this site for a while and finally decided to "jump in". I'll be the one asking questions, not answering them.
Cheers...
Yes, going back to RAW solved the Px. Many thanks for the solution. I wasted too much x deleting all the unneeded photos, much less the x it took to download multiple photos to computer. :)
Thanks so much for the input. I hadn't considered a grey market. I'll look at B&H. You probably saved me a big headache.
