From "The Outlaw Josie Wales:" "Dying ain't much of a living."

Yep, my favorite line. I will watch the entire movie just to hear that one line.

I also like when what Josie said about the Indian Squaw "When ever I start liking someone, they ain't around long" to which the Indian Chief replied "I've noticed that when you get to not liking someone, they ain't around for long either"

Classic movie, one of Clint's best...

how about a couple of famous misquotes:
"We don't need no stinkin' badges," was actually: "We have no badges. In fact, we don't need badges. I don't have to show you any stinking badges, you god-damned cabron and ching' tu madre!”
and:
"Play it again, Sam," was actually: as said by Ilsa: "Play it, Sam. Play "As Time Goes By," and later in the film, by Rick: "If she can stand it, I can! Play it!"

And "Dying ain't much of a living boy!"

It's late, an hour after sunset, and I'm hiking down a narrow trail back to the parking lot. Lots of good shots but I am the only one left (I hope). I have several thousand dollars worth of gear on my back, really wishing I had a German Shepherd by my side right now.....

https://www.amazon.com/David-Buschs-Nikon-Digital-Photography/dp/1681981467

Try this one by David Busch. I have purchased one of his books for the last three Nikon models I have owned. Pretty easy to read, unlike the manual which only tells you how to do things, David explains why you would want this are that setting. My only complaint is that the books are aimed at beginner photographers and will sometime go into too much detail explaining beginner photographer techniques. I just usually skip over those parts....

Try B&H Photo, I believe you will get much better treatment. I was looking to sell Nikon 80-200 a while back, the average price on Ebay was around $270, which is exactly what B&H offered me. No hassle, no worries.

Just saw this on Nikon Rumors - looks like Adorama is doing pretty well with getting them out:

That is true, I looked at the D810 on their site a couple of days ago and they were in stock. You can also go directly to the Nikon site and get them but you are limited to only one per order

Seriously? Sure modern cameras can be set to fully automatic, but they don't take the picture, the photographer does. And no matter how automatic the cameras are, if you don't have the basic understanding of how a camera works, the odds of you getting a great picture are slim. What aperture do you use for a given situation? Fast shutter or slow? Modern cameras have the ability to make a good photographer only better assuming he or she knows what they are doing.

A self driving car still needs directions from the driver to get where they are going....And the same is with the new modern cameras

I like to take pictures of the Milky Way. A typical exposure is 30 seconds at 2500 or 3200 ISO. Any longer than this and you will get star trails, so a high ISO is necessary
I also shot an indoor wedding once. The only way to get the background light to match the flash was to use an ISO of 1600. The pictures came out really good, but it is ABSOLUTELY necessary to get the exposure right when you take the picture. Any underexposed picture will show a lot of digital noise if you try to lighten it up in Photoshop. This applies to any picture taken with an high ISO (800 or greater)

I watched a show years ago on this. This class instructor took a class room full of college students and passed them out each a horoscope based on the time in which they were born. He had each of them read their horoscope (there were about 40 students in the class) and then asked each of them if they felt the horoscope they read was relevant to them that day. The whole class agreed.
Then the instructor asked the class asked the students to pass their horoscope to the person behind them and that the person in the back of the row bring his or hers to the student up front. After they did, some quite laughter began to break out in the class. They all realized that all the horoscopes, no matter what the month, were exactly the same! The instructor went on to explain that horoscopes are so vaguely worded that they could apply to anyone at anytime, no matter when they were born.

I got this survey request from Amazon bribing me with a possible $50.00 gift card if I completed the survey, so what the heck, I'll bite. The survey was five simple questions and took about one minute to complete. Not surprising, I didn't win the gift card, but I was offered several other "free" gifts for my effort. A strange set of gifts, anything from anti-wrinkle cream to male enhancement pills. The only one that was any interest to me was some free watch from Miglia. The watch was free but you had to pay $6.00 in shipping.
I suspected something was up so I clicked on the "terms and conditions" (nobody ever reads these). The first part talked about your promise to pay the shipping, the second part stated that when you got this "free" watch, you were automatically enrolled in a program to get other watches at about $100 per month. NOT. I wonder how many other people signed up for their "free" product and didn't bother to read the fine print?

Amazon, you should be ashamed of yourself!

Try this website:

http://photoephemeris.com/

You can put in the coordinates of where you will be (use Google Earth) and it will show you the direction of the sun and moon. Pretty helpful if you have never been to a place

If you plan on putting this on the D850, go with the VR version. The extreme megapixels of this camera will show every flaw, everything vibration, so unless you plan on using the tripod all the time, I would suggest you invest in the VR version of this lens.

I have the non-VR version of this lens and plan on upgrading to the VR version once I upgrade to the D850

I am sure there are a lot of books out there but I don't recommend any of them, I tried many of them with limited success. Video's are much more productive, they tell you how to do things and show you at the same time. You can spend a lot of time with youtube bouncing around from one subject to another but if you want to learn in a more progressive manner (from the basic's to the advanced) you might consider internet sites like Lynda.com. A basic subscription is $25.00 per month and you can quit any time. After spending months trying to learn Photoshop by book, I subscribed to this site and after spending about 30 minutes per night in about three months I became a real pro on this program. It worked for me and it may work for you also. Good luck
