An addendum: I am intrigued at how you always seem to be traveling with your subjects. Each of your series seem to have that Photolady imprint.
Thanks again.

Talk about staring the beast in the eye. You are relentless Photolady, always managing to get to the right place at the right time to entertain us with remarkable images.

I just love these little guys. They are still small enough that they do not stay out or venture far with out mom around!

Photolady, you are a remarkable example in the excellence of pursuit. Pursuit, in this case, of something you so obviously love - an ongoing intimate look at any fascinating critter that crosses your path. Actually, your sensitive workmanship creates even more fascination. Don't know how you manage to be so consistently "there" but you definitely are.
Thanks,

[quote=Cany143]Rather than commenting on your memories of the 'awe inspiring emptiness' (emptiness? hah! the place is chock full of wonders big and small!!!), I'll instead just cut to your question.

Jim, just to be sure you know your world gets the ultimate respect from me, when I said "awe inspiring" it wasn't the emptiness I was referring to; it was those very wonders big & small you mention. And in my travels all over the globe I've yet to witness (up close) such wide open scenes as those in the Monuments part of Utah short of traveling to the extreme latitudes like, say Agostini National Park in Patagonia or ANWR in Alaska. And there's a lot of "emptiness" there too - you'd need a drone to see those wonders; definitely no roads.

[quote=Cany143]....and a look to the future.
Jim, all of your wonderful images of that incredible land always vividly bring me back to 1969 when my new bride and I were traveling from Escalante to Green River and on to Denver. It was a wild and crazy ride for a couple of neophytes. I remember an awe inspiring emptiness wherever we looked and I also remember some small billboard signs right around what I think is now the main entrance to Arches which proclaimed "Arches National Park Coming Soon".
All of which brings me to the question I've wanted to ask you: I'm certain there are many roads in places now where 50 years ago there weren't even places, so do you hike or drive to most of your locales and how far off the beaten path do these treks take you.
Yeah I know, I'm a bag of gas.

Thanks, and I'm quite happy that you enjoyed it. I've watched many, many of putting old dance routines to modern music and frankly, they pale in comparison to the quality of this one.

I posted this after Mark had brought it to mind with his link and I tagged this then however it was possible that not everyone interested may have watched this one.

Well, I for one, really appreciate it. I'm blown away by the sheer work it involved, even in this hyper CG world.

I posted this amazingly choregraphed dancing of numerous old movie stars to the music of Bruno Mars.

Each footstep and hand clap matches ever so well that one could imagine that it were the dance line of the old stars at the time. It's a job of putting together old clips very well done.

I hope that you enjoy watching it.

As a career producer/director of all things musical, I am stunned at the beauty and energy of this piece. The classic syncopation and editing is one thing but the number and variety of the clips the producers came up with is amazing. And I love the Bruno Mars hip hop generation vs classic Hollywood juxtaposition. Wish I had done it.
Thanks for sharing this. Anybody wanna dance?

I think I've got every one of your shots in my files Mike, but they're not as nice as yours.
Thanks.

Took this a few years ago when I still had my Minolta Maximum 5D, which I gave to my grandson to get him started. Shot at 35mm, 1/80 at f8, iso 100. This was back just after I ws getting back into photography.

Don't know what good it is, but viewbug gave me the fall 2020 award for it.

Based on a quick gander at your websites, I'd say there a couple hundred more awards in there. But this one is nice too, especially in download.
Thanks

Lucky I had my Nex C3 with me. One of the best pictures I have ever taken - and also one of the most surprising when I first saw it. The post didn't come out before. I went inside and used my PC. It didn't load when I used my phone. Sorry. I still could not find what I was supposed to see under the challenge heading in order to post there. I hope you like this anyway.

Whatever you say it's supposed to be, it'll still be a great, multi-layered image.
Thanks

That is an excellent exposure. And a great image. Sure doesn't look like my sunsets.

Enjoy them, you bet. I spent most of my early life in and around Brown County (Nashville) and these are so good they make me homesick (for the first time in 50 years :<)
Thank you,

Ken, I think you're being very kind to Mother considering what she's put you thru the past few months. Those nice pix of lovely flowers is akin to putting lipstick on a pig. But I admire you - I'd be bawling my eyes out and begging for anybody to feel my pain. But we do.
Take care.

We had Emorie over the weekend, and of course Gramps just had to grab a few photo's

Emorie knows her gramps is behind the camera and the camera sure knows who Emorie is. Gramps is not the only thing she's looking at that loves her. She's a natural.
You're a lucky guy.
