As a newbie, a lot of that is 'greek' to me but I enjoyed reading it and it makes me want to learn more! Thanks for taking the time to put this together! Can I copy/paste it into a word doc and print it out for my own use?

Beautiful picture especially considering there is no post processing. The reflection is a lot more saturated than the actual sky and mill. With a little processing (minimal) it could win that contest.

Thanks so much. I didn't win the contest but that's ok. The point was to enter as I have issues sharing my stuff. :)

I like how you framed the mill with the trees and the lovely reflection.

Thank you! I had my son and hubs in my ear telling me "Get it this way, No do it this way" and I finally just said leave me alone and let me shoot it! LOL I was pleased with it.

A picture that hasn't been all doctored up. Love it. Another Missourian

Thank you. Hubs and I 'discuss' this often. He believes you should always post process and I don't agree. I prefer leaving my photos as they are. There is no right or wrong, just personal preference. And for me it's leaving them as is.

Gimp will work in Windows 8. I used it with Windows 8 and am now using it with Windows 8.1.

Thanks for letting me know that. I went to try and download it and couldn't find Windows 8 in the choices. I'll look again
