My instructor in Adult Ed teaches Photoshop and Elements together and the student gets to choose the one they want to use. Would you consider doing something similar like Picassa and Photoshop? He uses Scott Kelby and recently "Photoshop CS5 for Nature Photographers" which also covers Photoshop Elements! Check out nikon d7000 part 1 on youtube for a demonstration of what the shutter sounds like in different modes. He also compares it to the Canon d60 shutter sound. The Nikon has a very different sound from the Canon.
