Wow! Great set from a very cool place. The sandhill flying right at you blows me away. Super!

Cool! I love old toys. Can't wait to see what else you come up with to do with them. Have fun playing! (They are toys, after all :)

Jim,
Nice poem, but I disagree with your theology. The Bible is silent on pets in heaven, but there are several verses in Isaiah that refer to animals with us in a newly recreated earth. Animals are innocent and free from being able to sin as they cannot know Good from Evil so this makes sense. I suspect our pets will be waiting for us. St Francis is said to have specifically believed animals have a place in heaven and based on their inability to sin, probably have a better chance than we who have the ability to know Good from Evil and can choose.
Jim, br Nice poem, but I disagree with your theolo... (show quote)

I'm with you. There is no heaven (at least for me) that is not filled with animals.
The verse I remember concerning that is Luke 3:6 "All flesh shall see the salvation of God". (my brother also has a thing he says about "Not a sparrow will fall that God does not know about". I am not sure where that comes from though. :)

Wow this is tough. There are really no words that truly bring comfort. Perhaps their little dog is preparing for the role of guardian angel over the your son's (yet) unborn children and must be set free to that higher calling. No on is ever really gone if you keep them in your heart and memories.
If possible, have the vet come to the house for 'the transition'. If not, make sure they are both present at the vet's office to surround the dog with love and comfort on his way over the 'bridge'. Dogs do so much for us while they are alive, it is the only thing we can truly do for them so they know they were loved here on earth. I wish you and your family well.

That's a shame, but every tree does have a life-span. Maybe they could re-purpose the wood into a commemorative piece of furniture, sculpture, or plaque.

Winter is the best time for birds in Florida. So many migratory species here then. I always make a trip to the Circle B Bar ranch near Lakeland in January (a birthday present to myself) for a mountain of birds. Good Luck and safe travels, but most of all, don't dismiss the winter months for birding in Florida.

If it is a good and interesting topic I will read to the end regardless of how many pages it takes. What I hate are the trolls that add nothing to the topic.

I admire your spirit, K9, but wouldn't that be thought control? ...to require necessity?
Otherwise... Good to see the comments.

I have thought about sending PM's to people instead of posting. Is that polite or intrusive?

If the thread is interesting and has active participation, why put a limit on pages? If you or someone else loses interest, they can always drop out at anytime.

As far as PM, not a bad or intrusive thing when used properly. Of course, expect to be blocked (as with any general post) if you overstep your bounds.
