I surely hope that Sarah Palin didn't say what she did in that caption. It would be proof positive that she never misses a chance to put her foot in her mouth.

OK, you just got Russia and China back together... and screwed the environment to boot! Good job...maybe YOU should be our next president!

I'm not to worried about China and Russia. Their foreign relations are worse than ours. :)

I have said it before, the only way to beat Putin is by economics. Isolate Russia economically and they will come to terms. Our president, unfortunately has a complete lack of knowledge about international economics and surrounds himself with sycophantic idiots that are not much better. Open up the keystone pipeline and expand our natural gas supply structure so that we can help out Europe if Putin turns off his spigots. Russia's economy is based on oil and gas. If they lose that income they will be in deep doo doo.

That's exactly what he's doing! Economic Sanctions, working with the World Bank, seeking alliances with Europe. By the way Biden is pretty savvy in foreign affairs. As to the Gas supply, we already export gas and I'm sure we'll export more if it's prudent to do so. The biggest problem in Crimea is that two thirds of the population want's to be aligned with Russia.

Oh, I'm aware of the Cuban missile crisis but that was turned away. I don't believe there is a Russian base in the western hemisphere at this time and I don't think there will be one anytime soon. All of the noise coming out of Moscow now is just that. Noise. It's just Putin stirring the pot trying to be relevant. He is an opportunistic bastard I'll give you that.

Dave, that's an unfair question, asking a right wingnut what they would do. wingnuts of the "loyal opposition" simple gripe, complain, blame, cut'n'paste and call liar... they are not programmed for original thought.

And that's my problem with most of the crap posted here. By the way, you have a great avitar.

I'm not a foreign affairs expert but the notion of a Russian military base in the western hemisphere is horse shit. much less in Latin America.

You yourself might wish to do a Google search. There are many documents from different cultures that support the existence of Jesus, King David & King Solomon.

The ark was about 60% of the size of Titanic. Titanic had over 3,300 people on board.

You would think if God could march the animals to the ark He could have many of them hibernate for a good part of the trip. You guys discount what He can do, He is God, He can do whatever, however He wishes

HA HA HA HA br br You yourself might wish to do a... (show quote)

And here is another problem. The apologists ask for proof of something, we atheists take the time to to show the evidence we base our skepticism on and then the apologist takes all of 15 seconds to say, "Well, god can do what he wants too." As if that is proof of something.

Perhaps the titanic had 3500 people on board I'm not sure but as I said in my post that was off the top of my head. I was referring to load capacity when I talked about size but even if it was 60% it would still fall miles short of enough. You still haven't addressed the other problems I mentioned.

I'd be interested to see the documents you speak of.

Sorry, Dave, the game isn't played that way. YOU need to come up with your OWN set of inconsistencies. Why would you allow someone else to make up your mind for you? OR does this whole thing about God and the Bible scare you a little bit? Don't respond back unless you're prepared to engage one on one with me with your own inconsistencies.

I'm sorry Buckeye, I thought you were looking for an answer to your question but I'll bite. Here are just a few of the many problems the bible has.

You cannot take all of the details of the Easter story from the four gospels and create a single narrative.

Millions of Hebrews are purported to have left Egypt. There is no evidence of this or mention of it outside of the bible.

There is precious little evidence that there was a King David, or King Solomon.

There is precious little evidence that a historical Jesus existed.

The Noah's ark story alone is hugely problematic. The Titanic was 4 times the size of the ark and it was designed to house 2000 people for 2 weeks. the ark was supposedly designed to house millions of animals for over a year. Never mind food clean water and waist removal. Fish would die, the water being either to salty or not salty enough. Corals and other shallow water creatures would die from water pressure. What did the animals eat when the flood was over. All the plants would be dead and the predators would eat what? There would be no genetic diversity with only one pair of animals or even 7 pairs. How cold would it be at 30,000 feet and what about air density.

These are just a few off the top of my head. Again, if you'd like to get a more exhaustive answer to your question try that google search.

James,
You say the Bible has "too many inconsistencies." Would you mind telling me one or two of them? And, please, don't give me just your interpretation or something you may have heard someone else say. I'd like you to quote the chapter and verse you're speaking of. Thanks!

Hey Buck Eye, The easiest way to answer that is to google "biblical fallacies." You'll get pages of websites that document in detail the inconsistencies of the bible. From internal conflicts to historical un-truths and some of these sites are scholarly in nature. I would encourage you to research a few and see if you have the same view afterward.

Maher is routinely quoted and is widely-quoted on the web. I've never seen him criticized in the mainstream media for his gutter mouth or gutter behavior. Recently he spewed out vitriole about women, including calling Palin a "cunt" along with various insults about her intelligence.

Look at the hypocrisy: can you imagine how the mainstream media would carry on if a leading Conservative referred to Hillary Clinton or Oprah Winfrey as a "cunt"?

Maher routinely uses vile language, but the mainstream media never calls him to account for his gutter language, gutter behavior, or anti-women statements.

See below for a discussion of his gutter mouth and misogynistic statements.:

Real Time host Bill Maher wasn’t talking about energy efficient light bulbs when he used the term “2 watt” in reference to Sarah Palin on his show, and he wasn’t expressing a wish to see her next Tuesday during a weekend performance of his stand-up act. The late-night comic/political pundit often uses shocking language to cultivate an “edgy” persona, but his gender-based attacks on conservative women like Palin and Michele Bachmann threaten to alienate the many pro-vagina viewers in his audience.

According to a review by The Dallas Voice, Maher’s use of the slur constitutes “fearlessness”:

It’s that fearlessness — he acknowledged that some people would probably be uncomfortable with some of his remarks about religion, not to mention calling Sarah Palin a “cunt” (“there’s just no other word for her”) — that makes Maher the most dangerous person in comedy.

Shock humor is a staple of the stand-up comedy world, so policing the language of stand-up comics is an impossible task, and an undesirable one. Stand-up comedy is art, and is due the same latitude as other art forms.

But, as Newsbusters‘ Noel Sheppard points out, Bill Maher isn’t your typical comic:

Maher is indeed doing political commentary. When he gets interviewed by CNN, MSNBC, or any of the broadcast network news programs, it’s not to do one-liners.

It is instead for him to offer his political views about current events in a venue made for such a thing.

Yet, when he makes a comment that crosses the line, he’ll conveniently hide behind the comedian veil and folks on the Left will wittingly give him a pass.

I disagree with that last part, of course, since Democratic strategist Kirsten Powers immediately comes to mind as someone who has denounced Maher’s attacks. Misogyny isn’t just a left/right issue, as the recent #MooreAndMe flap attests.

However, I will concede that there are some who have differing standards on language, depending on the speaker and the target, but that’s also not a left/right issue. Sarah Palin is a great example of this from the right.

But on the subject of Bill Maher, Sheppard is absolutely right, Maher is too far out into the political punditsphere to be able to jump back behind the stand-up comic wall when it suits him, and verbal violence like this has no place in politics.

Besides, I’ve seen this kind of thing from Maher for a long time, and his use of shocking language and jokes, more often than not, is used as a replacement for actual material, rather than as an enhancement.

Maher isn’t likely to stop any time soon, unless some of his guests begin to confront and call him out for it, like Dana Loesch did over his use of the term “Teabagger,” or until he stops getting a reaction.
Maher is routinely quoted and is widely-quoted on ... (show quote)

Without getting into a big in depth discussion I'll just say that Bill Maher is a comedian first and foremost and I've never heard him duck any criticism. Is his comedy informed by his political position? Yes. Is he sarcastic and snarky? Yes. Is he worse in that regard than Greg Gutfeld? Hell no. At least Bill Maher is funny. And just for the record I've seen more than one guest challenge Bill on a point which resulted in an intelligent conversation. I'll also say that there have been times when I have disagreed with him, this being one. Calling Sarah Palin a cunt is a little beyond the pale of good taste even for Bill Maher.

Next time please use your own thoughts instead of cutting and pasting an article that you've read.

The only difference between Maher and a run of the mill a..hole is that Maher is more guttermouthed and receives more ass-kissing by the liberal mainstream media. The mainstream media is fine with gutter language as long as it comes from a liberal and he's bashing religion, conservatives, or other politically correct targets.

Who's kissing Bill Maher's ass? He's on HBO, not network television. He does occasionally appear on talk shows but isn't "gutter mouthed" in any of those appearances. Who is the mainstream media that you are talking about?

My ex-girlfriend went to that school and she only learned how to swim a few years ago (at the age of 38) at the urging of her children and I.

There is no excuse for this incident, they should have had everyone in the shallow end of the pool until they reach a certain skill level.
