i try to keep them all, they store quite well collapsed and it is surprising just how many you can get in a plastic tub and store the tub somewhere, loft, shed etc.

The last couple of months I have been having a nightmare performance with LR Classic, sometimes the little umbrella just spins and spins, I have to then close LR down and restart just to get the umbrella from hanging. It is driving me mad it has now started doing it on my Mac laptop 15 inch, I have a 27 inch Mac as a desktop and a 21 inch Mac desktop. There must be an answer if lots of us are experiencing these things.

Anyone besides me have a frustrating time with the sluggish performance of LR Classic tools? Brush, spot adjustment are disappointing, frustrating and slow with unwanted artifacts appearing as well. I appeal to the experienced and kind hearted Hoogers for your suggestions on improving speed and performance. Adobe tech help is evasive and seemingly unwilling to help.
Most gratefully,
Roger

No, I'm not giving up on photography or Nikon! Just trying to fund a SuperTelephoto lens. Please help!
ALL lenses listed below are US models with US serial numbers - not gray market. All include caps, hoods, soft case, manuals

1. Nikon 500mm F4,1:4G version 2, VR. Excellent condition - $4000 Includes hard shipping case

2, Nikon 300 F2.8 , VRII 1:2.8 G ED - fast and extremely sharp. Using a TC 2.0 in good light = 600mm - excellent condition - $3100. Almost always enough light to use the 1.4 or 1.7 TC

3. Nikon 70-200 F2.8 VR ED IF - like new, used maybe 3x, perfect. $2100

4. Sigma (Nikon mount, possibly Canon mount or others - I'm told the Nikon mount can be changed without charge by me) 150-600 VR SPORT - excellent, versatile, sharp light lens. Easy to hand-hold .
9 mo old, perfect shape. $1100

5. Sigma "dock" needed for calibration to your particular camera $35 - new

6. Nikon 18-200, bought new, used x 1 week while my other 18-200 was not yet repaired. VRII .AF-S DX F 3.5-5.6 Excellent for DX Nikons, also works great on FX $350

7. Nikon TC 1.7, 1.4 and 2.0 - prices negotiable

8. LowPro Lens Trekker great padded backpack for a 500/600 with camera attached. It's this one: $150

I have recently had exactly the same problems, it just keeps hanging after a short while of using L/R it is driving me bonkers. Any suggestions would be VERY useful. Thank you. I have CC Classic so do pay each month,

I have the same problem. Sometimes it shuts down almost immediately, and other times it stays open as long as I want it to. It’s a problem that has cropped up in the last month or two.

I watched a YouTube video a few years ago and he was trying to sell his technique, but from what I gleaned from the video is that he set his camera on a tripod with mainly a wide angle lens, he set a very slow shutter speed. aperture F8 then with his flash held in his hand he went around the rooms flashing where he felt he needed the light and his pics were amazing.

I then replicated this technique to do some of my own shots - it works - I had light where I wanted it and the pics were great, I can't show an example as I lost all of my photos when the hard drive failed !! (all 9000 of them, lessons learnt) but I will continue to use this technique as it is simple.

I should have mentioned earlier that I have a 27 inc Mac 5K late 2014 - 3-5 GHz Core 15 - 8GB 1600 MHz DDR3 - AMD Radeon R9 - so I suppose it could be I need extra space but everything else works fine, PS works OK also. I will have another attempt at getting in touch with Adobe later today. Thank you everyone, it all helps.

I am running Lightroom CC the latest version, what happens is when I log into LR and try to do any particular task, whether it be importing or editing the little umbrella just continually hangs, eventually I can perform some tasks but so slowly that it is not worth bothering with. A little while ago(a few weeks ago) it was doing exactly the same thing, then it appeared to be cured but now it is happening again. I have unplugged, shut down all the normal things but still it hangs. Any help would be great. Thank you.

Thank you so much for all of your replies, it was all soooo disappointing, getting up at the crack of dawn, fighting our way through 1000's of cars lining the roads and byways AND it was freezing to say the least, when we were told even the typhoon was cancelled we headed back down to hill towards the car THEN whoosh at approximately 1.25pm, one hour and 20 mins late, the typhoon graced us with its presence, cameras were already in the boot, we had to laugh really but what a wasted journey, I felt a little sorry for the little boats bobbing about with cameras on board and videos, it was all over in 2 seconds. Shame never mind there is always the 76th anniversary. Yes I am still at Byards Leap working away to pay for camera outings etc!!!

I am going to photograph the Lancaster Bomber tomorrow morning on its anniversary flight over Derwent Water. What I would like to achieve is to get some colour into the shots of the aircraft against a bright sky. Any tips would be welcome.
I am taking with me my 300mm 3.5-5.6, 70-200 f2.8 and my Sigma 500 5.6-6.3.

I know to use a fast shutter speed and I planned to use F8-11 and spot. Would anyone have any other tips please - I will only get two chances and it will be gone. Thanks

Thank you for your help. I do like BIF type of photography and that is why I purchased the 50-500 when it first came out, but, as mentioned, I am disappointed most of the time with the results, so perhaps time for a trade in.

The 85 mm is not going to be for BIF but a more general use of portraits and animals etc. Can't wait to get to the show.!!!

The Sigma 50-500 is not a great lens.
The Sigma 150-600 is quite good (I have it).
The 150-600 G2 from Tamron is even better ( so I have read) (35% cost premium over the SIgma)
....and the $10K telephoto primes are even better for BIF ...lol

...and the 85mm will focus quickly and accurate for most indoor sports and the IS/AF on my 5DmkIV will allow me to shoot in the dark :-)
