Great pictures! Was in the area in July but had to leave early when I tripped over a tufa at Mono Lake (while taking pictures) and broke my arm (but not the camera!).

Wow, sorry to hear that. I would think that most Photographers, would try to save their camera's also.

Living in Los Angeles and being able to go spend 5 days in Bishop Ca. and breath all the tremendous fresh air up there, is truly awesome. There are so many lakes up there it is impossible to see them all.

Thanks for looking everyone.

Spent 5 days in Bishop Ca. Went deep into the Mountains to get to Lake Sabrina, North Lake and Intake2. Went looking for the Fall Colors. Was very cloudy and kinda chilly, seems like when the sun is in hiding everything is kinda drab looking, Boy when the Sun comes out of hiding the Fall colors just explodes. And wouldnt you know it, Monday morning we packed up and headed home, and the sun was shinning, not a cloud in the sky.. Well maybe next year. Was fun anyway...

Images from our recent motorcycle trip to CA which included both the coast Redwoods and the Sequoia. While both are huge the coast Redwoods are substantially taller and the Sequoias fatter.

I don't know how to photograph them to illustrate their real size. The image with my "gang" might give an indication. (They are my three sons.)

All taken with Nikon D5300 and Sigma 17-50mm lens. Images combined in Lightroom as panoramas.

These are really nice.. I have been to Sequoia National Park at least 3 diff times, heck I am only less then 300 miles from the Park. And it is hard to collect the perspective to truly show these massive trees. I never been to Northern California or Oregon to see the Coast Redwoods. But that may change in a few months when we take the coast all the to Canada from Los Angeles. I would think that it should be a nice drive.

Wish I would be up there now in the cool air, it's terrible hot around here.

A really nice set.. Mike. I kinda wonder how you can be Hot Being in the bay area. You need to be here in L.A. Then you can complain... LOL...

I'm looking to purchase Tamron 17-50mm f/2.8 XR DI-11 VC LD SP Lens (72mm). Any suggestions? I have been searching quiet a few sites. 42nd Street have the cheapest at the moment. Please help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My son was selling the tamron 17-50 last year for his Nikon, and I Bought it from him for my D7100 and it took great pictures Half the time.. It had a Focus problem, So I gave it back to my son. He said it had a 6 yr Warranty on it, I said for him to send it in and get it fixed then I will look at it. Well he didn't, he sold it on craiglist, Well I bought instead the Sigma 17-50 which was a better lens it seemed.

I think the Sigma 17-50 is a better lens.. and DxO rates it better then Nikon 17-55 and Tamron 17-50.

They are not too long, I think, took this several weeks ago, talk about Long Horn.

Wish I could have gotten a frontal view. by the time I was able to turn around and park they had already started going away. but the horns are so thick. Heck the one's you took are pretty wide.
