The Old Oaks is indeed where we were and is our favourite site at the moment. Peaceful and with easy fishing. Might be there again in August. Trethem Mill in St Just in Roseland is nice also but a hell of a trek for you.

Us at the Old Oaks - I can hear everyone else yawning.

You are joining a short queue there Bmac but thanks.
You really are on my wavelength with the detail shots Sinatraman - works of art. Not just Caddies though, any old iron. The '57 Chevy really works for me. Tom 'Mongoose' Mcewan used to drag race a '57 Chevy Funny Car. I think I saw it run at the Gatornationals in Ocala in 1990.
Here is one I took a couple of weeks ago at Shakey (Shakespeare County Raceway)

'57 Chevy-he tows his caravan with this as well

I bet they are good memories. American Graffiti is one of my favourite films, just for the cars.
Not much effort, I thought I was saving a photo not spoiling one - ha ha.

We went to Glastonbury over Easter. Bit of a significant trip for us as Barb had just started chemo when we went last year. and now she appears to be through it. The Lakes are very nice though - when it's not raining.

I couldn't take that shot as the M6 is normally stationary round here. It's rumoured that they are going to build a road next to it.

Sorry Sinatraman I was having a quick peek at work before I started - on lunch now - slave drivers!
Anyone who likes old Cadillacs etc is a mate of mine.
Don Vittorio, I have no idea of the year. I like them but don't really know anything about them. My brother-in-law runs an old Buick Skylark and knows about all that stuff.
Thanks again folks. Still can't believe the result but what do I know?

How can so many people be so wrong. Only joking. Well I didn't expect that. I see a colour picture as a snap and a real photograph as black/brown and white, but it seems that I am in the minority - the story of my life there.
That was fun with an interesting (albeit completely wrong!!)result.
Hello to my new best mate angler who (1) Agrees with me. (2)Goes caravanning. (3)Probably likes fishing. I took a photo over Easter of a Morgan towing a van - I will post it for you.
Thanks all, that was good.

I wonder what you think of my treatment of an old colour photo I took in France about 15 years ago. I scanned it and then did a little dodging and burning as it was a bit flat. I added a sepia tone along with some noise to simulate grain.
I'll take a risk here and admit that I really like it and do in fact have a print of it on my wall.
I'd like like your honest opinion though. Don't worry, I'm not fragile.

Good shot. I am sure that couldn't remember all that planning even if I had done it myself.
To my old eyes it seems that the focus point is on the front wing and not on the all important eye. Maybe fewer active focus points and bunched to the left would have worked better.
Still excellent though, never been much good at panning myself.

I didn't know you could get software for it. I have one effort that was done using Elements 7 and a tutorial by Digital Photo magazine.
The original was Frank Mason's Corvette launching at the Strip.

Hi Sam and welcome, I've only been here a day myself but it seems very friendly. Odd for me as they call it the HOG, and that means Harley Owners Group to me, so it feels weird.
Have been a tourist in Florida several times, Orlando, Okala, St Pete, Tampa, Daytona, Clearwater, Homasassa Springs, Crystal River. It's a nice part of the world you live in. Writing that list has made me realise why I have no money!

Thanks rfbccb, I'm very new to this forum lark. I'm slightly unsure about the etiquette regarding older posts and if you can add to a 4 month old thread or not.
I looked at your page - loved the 'best bird photo', it had me going.
I too have had many cameras - Zenith, Olympus OM, Pentacon, Rollei, Leica, Bronica, Canon. Unfortunately I always had to sell in order to fund the next purchase - except for my OM-1 and Leica CL as I couldn't sell them.
