No, it was not OK. It was wrong, wrong, wrong. It was stupid, insensitive, and served no good purpose.
Equally wrong and stupid is the man kneeling.

Both are indicative of how people in this country have lost all decency.

Wow! Where do you people live!? I live in a small town in TN. I get my books from Amazon in less than five days, my bills sent through the mail are ALWAYS on time, packages from my favorite clothing stores take about five days to show up. And all this comes through the Post Office.

When one has been held down for so long, it's difficult to start moving forward. 'Poor W****s' also had/have that problem. After the Civil War, both colors in the South were left desolate. But the W****s had more freedom to move forward. The newly freed s***es had little to no help to become productive members of society because W****s refuse to help them. If you were an uneducated s***e, would you know the way to e******y, especially if you came off a southern plantation? The situation today has been a way of life for both white and black skins for so long, very few of them can escape it.
Do we ever think of why there are so many B****s in sports? Because it is one way they can succeed and be accepted. My husband had three awesome Black doctors in the year before he died. That is rare because black people are not that common in smaller southern hospitals The small town of Livingston about 30 miles north of me has a black mayor. He is one of the very few B****s in that town. Both examples show what can happen when/if you take race out of the equation.

I guess my point is that those who could have helped after the Civil War refused , and so endless years went by and the established white class moved foward while those decimated by the Civil War languished in poverty. There was no help for them until FDR electrified the South so that industries could expand into the southern states.

But today, we still argue and h**e and demean, and think that a skin color has something to do with what makes us human. How sad

[quote=travelwp]Wrong answer.

When many b****s shoot other b****s over a long weekend (like in Chicago), what should the non-black community do?

When 75% of black babies are born of wedlock, in the black community, what should the non-black community do?

NO, it's black culture and it must

NO, the psychological damage done to the Black S***ES has been a anvil around their necks. They were freed into a world that didn't want them. They were given NO help from southern govts. They were unschooled. They were given no land, while white immigrants traveled west to claim land given by the govt. They had no money and no way to earn money to travel anywhere and no promise of free land if they did.. Yes, they were freed from bondage. But they were not accepted into white society in any way whatsoever. They had no lifeline to help them assimilate.

One can say that after all these 155 years, they would be doing better, and yes, many are. But when one has to endure systemic discrimination for this number of years, it's extremely difficult to almost impossible to make headway. And after a time of being rejected because your skin color is not the right shade, you tend to give up. And being poor becomes a way of life.

I always respected what the players were protesting...just held their manner of protest in great disrespect.

Perhaps my sense of patriotism and love of f**g and anthem made me a little blind.

One can say 'please' just so long without anyone listening. And then you 'have to take the bull by the horns' as my father used to say while he hired a wonderful man of color for his assistant little league baseball team. And then he had the nerve to choose a player of color for the all star team. After that, he refused to disallow them traveling with the team to the regional tournament . So the host city near Nashville refused to hold the tournament, but another town offered and was accepted. This was in the '60s.

I want to say that Cookeville, Tennessee is wonderful, diverse community that welcomes any and all. And I also know and am so proud that my father had a hand in that.

Well, be happy you have a PO. When the donald gets funding stopped for it, you wont have to complain about the service anymore. You may not have mail service anymore, either, but hey.......

No offense to anyone, but I find trees more interesting than people. They stand still while being photographed, they don't mind posing naked, their branches tell stories, if you care to look and listen, they are havens for their winged brothers and sisters, they always dress spectacularly in autumn. I could go on, but you 'get the picture'. 😊

How about a photo of a single flower? I see lots of those. I have done many photos of both single trees and single flowers. I consider them portraits of a life form. Nobody complains about a photo of a single person. If you can't see the beauty of nature in a single tree, I feel sorry for you.

You can still find "See Rock City" signs on barns in East TN. His neighbors need to climb down from their high horses.
