I don't think the brand matters. I doubt that Watson and all the other brands have battery factories. A few companies make batteries - for cars, cameras, etc. Various companies buy them and put their names on them. I use generic batteries in everything.

Thank you jerryc41
I agree with you. Why do we have to pay extra for smething similar ?

Thank you LFingar
Certain names like Vivitar I used for my RX100 lost its charge quicker and finally died after a year.

I intend to get a sturdy, light travel tripod. It should be strong enough to hold my Canon R6 and its RF 100-400 lens.I like to use it to shoot landscape , portraits and close-ups.
I like to share your experience and advice.
Thank you.

PS. I already got the Befree Manfrotto but it's not strong and does not have the pana button.Do you have any experience with Sirui, Rollei tripods or ball heads ? RRS are too expensive !

Here is a sequence of photographs of the gator in our backyard this morning. Although i did not put a tape measure on him for obvious reasons, He's between 10 and 12 feet long. This is one of the largest ones we've seen in 36 years here in Hilton Head. The wildlife control folks need to move him. They usually do when they get over 8 feet.

Do you have a pond in your back yard? Your friedly (?) gator might come and get some fish. It might be an escaped pet since it was tagged, is it still in your back yard so you can get afew more close-up shots ?

Thank you Chuckla. I am 81 and I do not like to carry "big stuff" too.
Have you noticed any softness of the lens at full range ?

Thank you rdemarco52.
In the reviews they mention about the softness at the center at 400mm, is it right ?

I have a Canon R6 and a Canon EF 70-200 F4. I plan to purchase a Canon RF 100-400 F 5.6 for its price and weigth.
Please give me some advise about this less expensive tele lens. Thank you

Thank you "amfoto1" for your long prcious detailed analysis and review of different Canon bodies and lenses .
In fact I went through generations of photography from Leica M1, Rolleiflex, Pentax spotmatic, Nikon N20, Nikon F5...to Sony 1-2 MP, Canon APS-C, and lately Nikon D700 then D800 with their "trilogy", Nikkor 105, Nikkor 28-300, Sony RX 10 M I, MII and MII, Sony RX 100M IV, then Canon APS-C, finally Canon R6 with EF 10-22, 16-35 F2.8, 24-105 F4, 70-200 F4. At my age, I am thinking of light, compact but good systems to take good pictures, therefore my choice is rather strict and difficult.
You have large knowledge of photography and your nice advice is very sincere and helpful. Thank you.

Thank you Fetzler. I like the 100-500 but it seems too heavy for a long walk withe R6!
My Sony RX10 III has a Zeiss 28-600 F2.4 with a slow and sometimes hesitating autofocus (low light).
