Thank you LLucas...I don't always have specific reason for doing something but in this case I did...thanks for understanding my logic.

Your explanation makes a LOT of sense, eye art! One reason to love this forum is the banter that goes back and forth between artists that helps us better understand why certain "rules" are meant to be broken. Yours is an excellent example of that. I really like your artwork. Especially #2-

It won't be necessary for you to eat your words, what you said is valid and you made an important point but it was a narrow perspective I just widened it a bit.
Thank you for being so gracious in accepting of my comments....your a true gentleman.

Thanks Eye Art, I do agree with you. I worked as an artist for over five years to support me and my family.

I find the 'Dodo' comparison humorous. It's like someone saying something tastes like that. How does he know what it tastes like?

The saying is true, "Always season your words with graciousness, you never know when you may have to eat them." :O

I think for the intent of clarity that we understand the "value" is defined by "intrinsic" and "monetary" values. The mere fact that money is exchanged or not exchanged for art does not necessarily define its whole value. The intrinsic value in many instances far surpasses any monetary amount that may be offered, hence the term 'priceless'. The owner or creator of the object must determine which of the two components of value dominates the other. To summarize, selling a art piece does not solely define its true value.

I agree with JPL that when someone is willing to part with his hard earned money to have it, that says it all! The value of it has officially been set. It sold for $xxx.xx.
It's that way with art work for auction.
It's not the work as you see it that always sets the value, its how the market sees it that counts, especially if you want a return on your invest ment both in dollars and in self fulfillment. That is of course depending on if you did it to please others or please yourself. I guess the question becomes, "Do you want to be self satisfied, or do you want to make money". Only a few get to have both. :)

I think it is beautiful...very abstract and impressionist in its effect, I love it...remember, it is not important how you arrive but that you arrived......with this piece sojo50, you have "arrived".

I took this from a moving car trying to freeze the trees (or at least a couple) and the motion are the leaves. I changed the colors trying to make it a bit surreal. Does it work or just look like doo doo. Thanks

First, let me thank all of you who took the time to view and comment on this piece...I appreciate each of them.
Any of you who is familiar with my work, know I usually swim against the stream, so to speak, when it comes to my art. Each image I take is as if it were a painting (will show you some of my paintings), the viewfinder is my primary brush and if needed, detailing and creativity is available with software. Art should be as free as the very subject in this photo, no boundaries with the artist releasing the piece only when there is nothing left for the artist to convey. This piece is a semi-mystical with tonalities of surrealism. The position of the airspace is intentional and metaphoric. The Journey, is in essence my journey...the longer trail of space is a representation of my past history, this piece is about where I've been NOT where I'm going. This I hope sheds light on why the air position of the subject, so did I revolt against conventional general counsel regarding the position of the seagull in the airspace?.....Yes....Will I conform and change it......absolutely Not.

Again, thank you All !
Below some of my artwork....

I like the effect, a lot. I would like it better if he was flying into the photo, rather than out of the photo, but that's just me...

I really love both photos, they emanate this lovely vintage Victorian aura, she is a classic beauty making herself an ideal model for throwback early 20th century photography.
Congrats...well done!
