Michael Covington has a couple that I've checked out from our local library . They are pretty pricey if you purchase them. Amazon, however, has used that are reasonable. Good luck!
Talk about a couple companies destined to go in opposite directions!

I would highly recommend you get Jeff Revell's book: "Canon EOS Rebel T5i / 700D: From Snapshots to Great Shots". When I jumped back in to photography in May 2013, I had no clue as to what to do with my EOS Rebel T3i. I bought his book for that camera, read it cover to cover (three times!), and when I was done, I was familiar with my camera, exposure, and the basics of photography. I think his books are highly underrated, but they are just the thing for someone just starting out.

I have this book for the Canon 60d and 70D. The series is an excellent resource for both novice and experienced. Excellent suggestion. +++1
At Canon refurbished site, they are selling the 70d body today for $815 and kit (18-55 IS STM lens) for $917. I know these come up periodically, but this is pretty good savings.
You can feel the irony in those shots! I wonder what percentage of those who walk those streets and sands realize the sacrifices made there. Great link.
The sd card is a single point failure item that's relatively inexpensive, so why take the chance?
You might also connect your hard drive directly to the router (assuming you are running wifi). Then, it's as simple as drag and dropping to the network drive.
I put a pdf for every camera and lens I own on my ipad. The trick is having the ipad when I have reason to need the manual. A better solution? There are various quick reference laminated cards that probably better serve the purpose of a quick check of a setting, etc. Those are in my camera bag.
I have one. Loaded is a Canon 60d with a 15-85mm lens mounted. Also, a 70-300mm, 10-22mm, with hoods for all have places in the re-configurable Slingshot . Also a Canon S100 Powershot. Chargers for all. Various filters and 60d quick reference guide. Plus other stuff like extra SD cards, extra batteries, etc. Takes a few minutes to get the hang the sling mechanics. Only issue? Gets a little heavy after a while. I also occasionally carry a monopod, which attaches to the outside. Highly recommended.
Bigotry may be a tad harsh, Checkmate. However, the birth certificate nonsense has gone around and around without any sound justification. And to be honest, I seriously doubt it would have ever surfaced if BHO weren't black. Frustrated conservatives can't put a candidate on the podium that would win elections on personal merit so the next best thing is attacking. The last POTUS election was a perfect example. It was an excellent opportunity for the Republican party to win back the White House, and the rest is history. So, instead of building a meaningful dialog and constituency with the American public, we resort to this kind of silliness.
Bigotry at its best. Keep these over the wall posts coming.
I'm amazed how fast people can turn speculation and opinion into hard core fact.
This thread was about as productive as this do nothing, obstructionist congress that has nothing better to do than complain. Perhaps, they've forgotten about their hero Ronnie R giving the contras arms to facilitate prisoner exchanges. Maybe, they should go back to investigating Benghazi?
As for putting off purchases until the next whiz-bang comes along, I always remind myself what an Aussie acquaintance once said, "you're a long time dead, you know."
