I am going to have to part with one of my lens to finance a new camera body. I know the decision is mine but a little input is always nice. Here are the 2 lens.

1: Nikon 60mm 2.8D in like new condition

2: Nikon 28-105 3.5-4.5D in like new condition

Both lens do a nice job for me. Which is the keeper?

Any and all comments welcome ..............

I bought a Sigma EX DG HSM 50mm 1.4 for my Canon cameras because it was recommended over the Canon equivalent lens. I am very happy with it.

I am glad to hear you like the lens. I almost bought one until I saw all the bad reports. This lens is reported to have auto focus issues. Now I was looking to get the Nikon version so I do not know if the auto focus issue is limited to only Nikon. Other than that the lens gets excellent reviews as far as image quality. I ended up buying a like new Nikon 60mm 2.8 Macro.

I have used the Rokinon ( Samyang Optics ) 85mm 1.4 lens with excellent results. This lens had a chip so it can talk to my Nikon camera. The lens is big and heavy with a huge front lens. It was a friends lens but I would have zero hesitation on paying the $300 this lens cost. Images were sharp and clear with excellent color. Do not let the Rokinon or Samyang Optics name scare you away, this is a marvelous lens and well worth the price. Just note this lens is manual focus only.

I am most impressed with the abilities of the new Corel Aftershot Pro 2. It is easy to use and the x64 is FAST. The below sample took me about a minute to adjust from a RAW file and export to a JPG. Corel Aftershot Pro 2 is MUCH easier to use than adobe Lightroom 5.

Camera ----> Nikon D300
Lens ----> Nikon 60mm 2.8D Macro
Mode ----> Aperture Priority

I'm impressed too. Good lens!

We lived in Ann Arbor for 23 years before I retired and moved to North Carolina.

Picked this lens up for $250 in like new condition. I live in inkster, MI about 20 miles from Ann Arbor. Initially moved to Plymouth, MI from Daytona Beach, FL in 2000 where I spent 16 years. Grew up in Miami, FL.

Any time you ask for help like this it is best to post and click on "store original". Better download and the camera data is available to give specific results. Thanks David

Thanks ..... Sounds like a reasonable explanation of why I have a dark photo. Will check out the book. Since I have the RAW I will attempt to correct it.

Thank goodness I shot RAW. Saved the image.

Camera is Nikon D300 with Nikon 60m 2.8 Lens

These photos were taken just after noon on a bright and sunny day. Focus is 51 points, ISO was 200, WB set to Auto, NEF/JPG and in Aperture Priority mode. Only some of my 40 shots came out dark like this. The RAW is even darker. What am I doing wrong. The rest look good.

Attached is a dark photo and a good photo

Thanks for any assistance

I lost my D90 plastic LCD protector somehow during 1st week of ownership. I ended up using higher quality screen protector like the type used on cellphones. I like it because it is less bulky and obvious, but serves the exact same function....

What I have is not the LCD protector. It is the LCD lens itself.

I do agree, Cthahn's comment was completely worthless and definately uncalled for. Accidents happen, no matter how careful you are.

Short of complete destruction, virtually anything is repairable. Do as Doduce suggested and send the lens to Nikon in Melville, NY for a quote. You may find it is not as expensive to repair as you may think and most likely way cheaper than a new lens. The lens fell onto a rug so there is a good chance the damage is minimal.

Hope it works out well for you.

Lets not forget Topaz DeNoise. I use DeNoise and Detail with great results. I have found nothing better .... IMHO :-D :thumbup:
