I am most impressed with the abilities of the new Corel Aftershot Pro 2. It is easy to use and the x64 is FAST. The below sample took me about a minute to adjust from a RAW file and export to a JPG. Corel Aftershot Pro 2 is MUCH easier to use than adobe Lightroom 5.

Camera ----> Nikon D300
Lens ----> Nikon 60mm 2.8D Macro
Mode ----> Aperture Priority

Very very nice. I didn't know Aftershot Pro 2 was out. I am an avid user of PSP X6 Ultimate and I think for the money it is hard to beat Corel software anymore. It is easier to learn and use and has tremendous capabilities. Keep up the great work and have a GREAT DAY!

How do I access my RAW files? I have a Nikon D7000 with Sandisk cards in Slot-1 and Slot-2. I set it up so .JPGs go to Slot-1 and RAW go to Slot-2. I have Nikon's View NX 2 software but can't find how to access the RAW files. Maybe I should get Corel Aftershot Pro 2. I was thinking about getting Lightroom 5 but perhaps Corel is the way to go.
Thanks for any suggestions.

Yes, Corel may be the way to go. I does RAW files. Looks like a lightroom competitor. Go to Corel.com and check out Aftershot Pro 2. Mac and Linux versions will be available by fall of this year. Windows version is available now. Use the link below.

I agree with what you say about Corel PSP products. I don't have PSP X6 because I'm satisfied with X5. Corel makes excellent products very reasonably priced. I have no reason to spend $600 for PhotoShop.

I don't think PSP gets enough credit. It needs to be promoted more so people who don't want to shell out lots of money have a reliable, easy to use editing program.

I've heard that PhotoShop will only be available by a monthly subscription and that people can't buy it like they do now.

I never used PSP but am an avid user of CorelDRAW. Corel is an excellent vendor. Unfortunately, Adobe owns the market here and probably world-wide. I went with LR and PS not because they may be better but because they have so much documentation available and you can get more help from the larger user base.

The Corel products are so much more intuitive and easy to use.

CorelDraw came with WordPerfect Office. I haven't had a reason to use that. I've always used WordPerfect for word processing. It's been around much longer than Word. When PCs changed from the DOS operating system to a Windows-based operating system, WordPerfect didn't move quickly enough to create a Windows-based word processing format. That's why Word is so prominent.

People I know who used WordPerfect and had to switch to Word where they worked have all told me that they prefer WordPerfect. It's more user friendly and easier to use.

I agree with what you say about Corel products. Unfortunately, Corel missed the boat years ago when PCs went from DOS operating systems to Windows-based operating systems.

For many years, WordPerfect was the leader in word processing software. Many offices used it.

I remember when there was a variety of word processing software. IBM had theirs, another company had theirs. At one time Word Star was the easiest to use word processing program. Then it was WordPerfect.

As a temp secretary I had to use Word, but prefer WordPerfect because it's more user friendly.

When you put a card in to download it, a window will pop up asking what program you wanted to use. Close that window and go to the NX2 logo on your desktop. Do not get there by using the NX2 choice on the pop-up. At the top of the screen you will see a transfer choice. That will be your new photos.

You said it. And for that reason not as many tutorials and document are required for PSP to make it work for you. Fewer tutorials and docs should tell you something about the ease of PSP use.

I downloaded After Shot Pro2 yesterday. I have found it especially good at "noise" reduction. I haven't used it for much of anything else. I'm a software junkie and have been for many, many years (since the PC Jr. and the 8086 days).
I used Word Star, Paradox and Lotus 123 ver 1. Jumped to Word Perfect and was finally forced to Word, Excel, etc. I like Corel and I have used their products for years. Corel Draw is still not available for Mac OS. That's too bad. Adobe dominates the market and will probably continue to do so. Kinda fun looking back and I wish Corel good luck.
