Often not calculated in the savings of the LED bulbs is the air conditioning savings. Incandescent bulbs waste 80% of their wattage as heat, that heat has to be removed from the room by air conditioning, consuming at least an equal amount of power.

So, for a 100 watt bulb, 80 watts are saved by the bulb wattage, and another 80 watts are saved or more by the A/C.

I keep hearing about the LED bulb life, but have had 12 of them in my house, mostly in the kitchen area, some as desk lamps. Most run 5 hours a day, and are coming up on 6 years old in January. That's 9,000+ hours.

Define full of mercury. How about 0.2 micrograms now for the curly bulbs. The big ones of course have more. No matter, LED's eliminate this problem.

Operating system for Mac is not complicated, so I don't see that as a handicap in a switch.

A lady was texting yesterday while driving here SUV. She swerved into the other lane of traffic, realized what what happening apparently and tried to regain control of the car, but lot control. The car went out of control, hit a tree, then into the parking lot of a McDonalds, hit four cars before coming to a stop. One of the cars was my wife's. She was in the store at the time thankfully, and no one was hurt, but 4 cars were seriously damaged, 2 towed. Now I have to spend today in the body shop getting estimates, and hopefully get the repairs scheduled. Time away from my day I suppose. But this is what can happen.

Best to wait a long time after they launch 10 to see if it is received better than 8, which is a terrible OS. No sense upgrading to something that is not worth it.

Don't even bother with these $1000 off sites. You will never get the camera for that. I know, a while back I ordered a camera for a low price like that. I had to give my phone number, which I did. A day or two later, I got a call saying that I had to realize that the camera was a grey market camera, did not carry any warranty, and that I should just order the regular retail price camera. I said no, I want the grey market one, was willing to take the risk. The guy said OK. I never received a camera, never got billed. I would really hesitate to do this today, particularly since ordering on line from a too good to be true site could result in having your credit card information stolen. Stick with reputable dealers, pay the price, rest easy.

Simply go to Amazon, look up your piece, and check the used prices list. This is the easiest way.

No, "photographers" do not do an entire shoot with a smart phone. But just having been in New York City, there are very few people with regular cameras, most use smart phones and take many pictures. So I guess they are on a shoot.

Still better than Bush and far better than Congress, so let's focus on fixing Congress too.

At that price, get the 128. I just bought one though a bit more that $50, and wish I had waited a few more months as there is a 256 for $109. Why would I need 256gb? Well for one, cause I can. Second, I like putting an entire years photos on one card, but do back up to an hard drive too. Plus lately I have been taking a lot of movies with my DSLR which chews up memory.
