Hi "Rolk",

I honestly was just about to suggest the very same thing!! You beat me to it.
This is so very important at your Dad's stage in life and the chances are slipping away rapidly.
I was smart enough to realize this when my Dad entered his 9th decade here on planet Earth. He has been gone for quite a few years now but when I decided to try and capture as many of his WWII / service related memories as possible I realized that no matter how fast I could write a recording device of some type would be necessary.
This turned out to be a Walkman cassette machine and it proved absolutely invaluable.
He was in the USAAF (original designation for the current USAF) and flew the B-17 (Captain) with 22 missions over Germany and surviving with, literally, hundreds of holes punched in his beloved B-17 ("Heavy Evie" - my Moms name was Evelyn and, no, she wasn't at all heavy) over the course of these 22 missions. He also managed to lose only 2 crewmembers during this time and until his death he felt he could have done more to save these real friends of his.
Give it a try and best of luck.

All the best to you and yours Rolk (especially Pop!),

Good morning "BB",

You are exactly correct! I just wanted someone else to mention it first.
I make several trips to the UK each year and actually / personally know a couple of the blokes in the images.

All the best to you and yours,

Good morning "JC",

I have known this for quite a few years and it is absolutely true. I think the entire human body (simply one large electrical conductor anyway) acts as a quite powerful signal transmitter.
Very cool!

All the best Jerry,

A very good Sunday morning "PJ",

Number 2 is absolutely beautiful!! Really belongs in a an appropriate frame and in a Gallery. I would gladly purchase this breathtaking image without any hesitation whatsoever. It will take me several cognitive sessions with myself to decide what makes this image so unique and actually magical. For some reason J.R.R. Tolkien (The Lord of the Rings - for those who are not aware) comes easily to mind along with Gandalf, Tom Bombadil, Frodo, Sam and friends.
I am a 73 years old Health Professional (Thoracic / Vascular surgery (extremely precise / accurate and non-fantastical) Physician Assistant / Nurse Practitioner) still in possession of sound mind and body but I admit I do still tend to live in a 60's (slightly to moderately fantastical?) state of mind (and I love it!). That's when I first discovered Professor Tolkien - and he and his world have remained with me all these 55+ years only gaining in significance and respect.
A little off-subject there, sorry.
I fully intend to keep your download and get back to you as I ponder this incredible image.

All the very best to you and yours,

Terry

A very good morning Mark,

I can still recall seeing this great film sometime in the early to mid 1950's when I was around 6 years old and being unable to hold back the tears. I don't know whether I was simply / obviously immature or a little ahead of the maturation curve and understanding exactly what an absolute tragedy the deaths of the Sullivan's was.
I have probably seen the film a few times but have forgotten quite a bit of it.
Thanks for the download which is now in my library and will be revisited in a few minutes.

As always, all the best to you and yours,

Terry

Good morning ToxDoc42.

I completely agree the two images are excellent although the older I get (currently 73) the more and more I have become absolutely intolerant of traditional Zoos.

I can still vividly recall growing up in St. Paul MN and frequently visiting the Como Park Zoo which was the standard of the day with cages approximately 30' X 30' with concrete walls and concrete floors with a small exit to the outside - weather permitting. The smell was, as one would expect, terrible.

Wildlife preserves / sanctuaries (depending on the facility) are a much better alternative - if only in offering protection to so very many of our very dear fellow Earthlings who are severely endangered and going extinct so sadly and rapidly fast. Of course as they leave the planet they will, of course, never be replaced.

Good morning "AB",

I have had my D850 for nearly 3 years and much of the shooting I have done since then (mainly wildlife) has required a wireless remote. I purchased a Aodelan brand wireless device (Amazon @ $29.99 vs Nikon @ $44.99) and have used it extensively since that time. It is very small (playing card size with a thickness of approx. 5-6 credit cards) and is their version of the Nikon ML-L7. Uses only 1 CR-2 battery (original battery remains fully functional!) and has proven to be, literally, indestructible. Hope I haven't jinxed myself with that comment.
Check this one out AB.

Good morning "AB",

I purchased my D850 nearly 3 years ago and have been using an AODELAN brand wireless remote unit (Amazon @ $29.99 with Nikon unit @ $44.99) which is their version of the Nikon ML-L7 remote. Absolutely hand held (playing card size) and maybe 5-6 credit cards thick. Works flawlessly and have had no issues with this device. Uses only 1 CR2 battery. Highly recommended.
Check this one out.

Good morning "Lenscap",

Great!!

Welcome to the club - I first wanted to play the guitar "really badly" when I was about 15-16 years of age. The time of the "British Invasion" musically.
Now at 72 years of age (and having been in at least a dozen bands) I can proudly state that I play the guitar really badly. At least in my opinion.

All the best tom you and yours,

Terry

Good morning Bruce,

Wonderful posting.
God bless you and Mr. Ziggy - although it appears He already has with you two getting together. I know this is just the beginning of a very long and loving relationship.
It has long and pitifully been held that there are no "non-humans" allowed in Heaven - BS!!!
Regardless of the fact that the current Pope (Francis) has stated otherwise I have always felt that if Heaven is empty of any fellow Earthlings who happen to have (in addition to us bi-pedal beings) 4 legs, fur, tails, scales etc. I wouldn't want to be there. I simply cannot imagine a situation when you or Ziggy come to your lives end here on Earth and proceeds across that "Rainbow Bridge" that one or the other will simply wait for his very beautiful friend to arrive - in Heaven - and welcome you or M. Zig with open arms (or open arms and legs!). If Ziggy leaves first he will have been experiencing an absolutely terrific time with the other uncountable number of fellow Earthlings - not to mention the, also uncountable, number of doggie loving scents.
You two have it made because of each other.

All the very best to you and yours,

Terry

Good morning "Bluemoon",

I am very interested! I have an absolutely mint Sony D6C "Professional" Walkman ($300.00 in 1983 and now selling on Ebay for an average price of $1000.00!) and am a constant "Birder" spending time frequently with my feathered friends. The mike on the Walkman is very good although I have wanted a stereo mike for many years with no luck finding one. I have tried other birders stereo mikes and have been really impressed with the "widened" coverage. Your post just made my day with only one concern
The mike jack on the D6C is 3.5mm as is the plug on your mike. Do you know of any issues with my using the mike on the Walkman since the mm size is the same? Impedance, S/N ratio etc?
Please let me know what you think and the payment method you prefer. If the mike proves incompatible I can always us it on my D-850.

All the best and looking forward to receiving your reply,Terry

Hi again "Scruples",

Just noticed the YouTube bit on the "Assault" camera (Canon M4D Mark II). Great spoof / well thought out - although I realize I wasn't too far off in my joking description of what I think an "Assault" camera should look like. My original response showed up on page 3 of your postings responses.
This was really fun. If we can't laugh at ourselves - then what is the point?

Again, all the very best and let's do something like this again,

Terry
