I'm somewhat confused by the numerous references to needing 300 PPI for good prints. I frequently print with 150 PPI on my Epson 4880 so that my cropped 22 or so MP images reach 16x20 inch prints. The detail has been good enough for photo competitions and a gallery.
I would suggest Fastcopy. It is freeware and works fine. It has lots of bells and whistles but you don't need to use them. Just take the main folders and tell them to copy themselves onto your external drives. 4-6 TB drives are now cheap. Make at least two copies of everything.
The RAVPower FileHub sounds like a great option. Costco has Sandisk 1TB USB SSDs now for about $120. One for each copy of files. If you are shooting 40 Mb files, that's about 25,000. If they are 22 Mb, it's over twice that. They weigh about 3 oz. 550 Mb/second.
I routinely have all signature required sent to my local fedex office to hold for me. Other than unusually miserable customer service, I got it about 20 minutes after walking in last week.
I've also heard that it is a danger. I've also not had a problem. I Also reformat each card every time after copying files (to 3 places).
Depending on your body, I would take a 1.4 extender if you can borrow one.
I have had award winning prints at 150 ppi. I can see no difference on my Epson 4880 between that and 300 ppi.
It sounds like the image was taken at a lower resolution than max for the camera, as has been mentioned.
Put your photos on your laptop and make another copy on the 1T Sandisk USB SSD at Costco for about $120. Light weight and no moving parts to break if jostled.
Thanks. I always shoot RAW except for Craigslist. My current sharpener has a capture sharpener and finally, a print sharpener. When do you run the Topaz sharpener?
I'm interested in experience with Gigapixel AI and denoise AI
I got the 500 PF which works great and a used 80-400. I find the combination spectacular.
For Canon or Nikon, I've done very well with Fred Miranda. You put in the ad and price . You decide if you will pay for shipping and/or Paypal 3% (and list in ad) and people can make private offers for you to consider if they don't like your advertised price.
I'm still thinking about it. I have lots of layers. Churchill a year and a half ago and Yellowstone in Jan. Tough to get the critters on snow in Florida. : ) I live in WA.
Thanks. My pleasure. I've not switched to mirrorless, but did go to a Nikon 500 5.6 PF at only 3.5 pounds.
