Nice shots.
Just a quick question. Have you considered jumping up to say 1260 shutter speed to reduce blur?
I know it's indoor so lighting is an issue, but with all the reflected/ambient light from the ice and boards??
Asking because I don't know and am curious.
Excellent work as always!
This was a 4 game tournament.
Shot a little over 500 pics and in all honesty not happy with a large portion of them.
First two games weren't all that good mostly batting practice for the Flyers. The girls weren't really having fun and it came through.
Second two games I got a case of the stupids or possibly just a little tired from the heat.
So the play was better but I was getting gassed and losing focus.
Anyways, here's a few that I thought were at least interesting.
Nikon D5500
Tameron 70-200 2.8 (non-G2 ver)
1260 shutter, 2.8 aperture, Direct Sunlight WB, Auto ISO
Short rant.
The manual isnt real clear on repositioning the focus point. Its covered in Live View and isnt something I would use on a regular basis.
Helpful answer: "You probably bumped the function ring.
You can manually adjust using the ring or by going to live view and selecting on screen."
I guess I should be grateful nobody chimed in with "You should get a (Brand XYZ), they're far superior to a Nikon."

No. RTFM is easier than you think.

Thanks for the link.
It really was one of those brain lock things.
I knew what I was looking for. The two suggestions triggered my brain faster than flipping through a pdf on my phone.
Thanks for the quick response.
RTFM would have been a pain since I'm at a game.
Odd one.
Started the day with my Tameron 70-200. No issues.
Switched to Tameron 150-600 and the autofocus aim point jumped to the right side of the viewfinder.
Switched back to the 70-200 same.
Switched to a Nikon lens same.
Ideas?
Valley of Fire, about 45min north of Vegas should fit the bill.
Excellent. Very good eye.
The equipment isnt quite as important as having the vision.

You laptop has a built in XQD card reader?
My bad. Replied before double checking.
** The memory card issue has come up before.
Nice!
I've got 4 back to back softball games tomorrow.
I know the field and weather outlook looks good so I'll be dragging out both the 150-600 f5-6.3 and the 70-200 f2.8.
Built in card reader on the laptop.
I dont shoot jpg anymore so instant shares via wireless are out for the most part.
Thanks all!
Shouldn't be an issue with the H.S.
Tournaments are a bit different but I know where to find the folks in charge at those events.
Does anyone know the rules for shooting prep/H.S. sports as a non-relative?
Kind of a follow up on practice, practice, practice.
If you dont have a media or MaxPrep pass what are the rules for shooting?
Limited to buying a ticket and sitting in the stands for football?
I haven't been bothered by families when wandering around the field to change positions on family games.
But have wondered about shooting other games during "my" teams breaks.
Or if I were bored and wanted to practice on random games that may be near wherever I am.
****Rememer. Trucker.. lots of travel.
Not being snarky.
Do you have something against feet or were 2, 8, 9 just at the edge of the frame already?
Appreciate being able to look at your work with the info. Gives me a better idea of what is possible.
