Gaining access/approval for prep sports.

Does anyone know the rules for shooting prep/H.S. sports as a non-relative?

Kind of a follow up on practice, practice, practice.
If you dont have a media or MaxPrep pass what are the rules for shooting?
Limited to buying a ticket and sitting in the stands for football?

I haven't been bothered by families when wandering around the field to change positions on family games.

But have wondered about shooting other games during "my" teams breaks.
Or if I were bored and wanted to practice on random games that may be near wherever I am.
****Rememer. Trucker.. lots of travel.

My Suggestion:

Contact Local Middle & High School Coach's, and Athletic Directors, and let them know You are interested in taking Sports.

As a shutter clicking amateur since 2010, I have had full access to Our local High School Sports, Football, Basketball, Baseball, Volleyball, Tennis, Lacrosse, Field/Track, Band, etc.

I have full access to School Campus, practices, locker, weight rooms, dugouts, gyms, etc.

At the end of each Season I give the Head Coach's a USB Flash Drive of photos I have taken during the season for their memories. I have been asked, and honored to use my photos in High School Sports programs, School papers, and Year Book.

I have been blessed to meet hundreds of awesome youth's, and their parents.

During this time two of Our three grandson's have played High School sports, and graduated. Our Youngest and last of three grand boys is now a freshman playing on the J V Football Team.

I have found this experience the most rewarding of the many hobbies I have enjoyed in my 79 years of life.

I get invited to Sports Banquet's, and have a closet full of caps, shirts, team photos the kids have given to me over the years, with signed team photos. Recently during an illness and hospitalized for a few days. My room was flooded with well wishers, cards, flowers, etc.

Attempting to take local Youth Photos is truly a huge blessing to me.

Good Luck on making contact, and social relations with Your local schools to obtain access. You will be blessed, and those kids You capture memories for will be blessed.

Excuse my rambles.

Pops said it all. I would follow his lead on this. He has been shooting for years.
Good Luck,
Jules

Pops is absolutely correct. Get the AD’s and Coach’s consent, share the photos and you are golden ! Paul

Thanks all!

Shouldn't be an issue with the H.S.
Tournaments are a bit different but I know where to find the folks in charge at those events.
