I strongly suggest a Pelican storage case; it’s large enough to store two bodies and six lenses but is quite heavy to lug around.

Mr. Quach, which Pelican is in the photo? That would be perfect for my needs today and into the future. Definitely going with Pelican. Thanks.

Thanks everyone. It was cloudy all the time. Happened to see small breaks in the clouds. Right when I was all set to take some shots, God parted the clouds and I was able to capture this image. God is good. I give a Him all the credit.

Hi Greer,

Beautiful catch! Congratulations.
About what time you took that shot? Just curious. Thanks.

BETWEEN 5:00-5:15am IN THE NORTHEAST JUST ABOVE THE HORIZON. TOO FAINT TO SEE WITH NAKED EYE (MAYBE IF YOU GLANCE AWAY AND THEN LOOK BACK), STILL BINOCULARS HELP.

Dear Dat,
I’ve made my mind up to order the Pelican. Actually, I’m ordering the larger 1650 to store all my gear in at home. I’ll be able to easily load up my Domke J1 Journalist bag, taking MoneyMaker along with gear for the days shoot. Even have room for a much desired Nikon 200-500mm f/5.6 in the future. I really appreciate everyone comments and help. I really mean that. UHH readers are the best. By the way, that Nikon 70-200 f/2.8E arrived today and I was bowled over. Autofocus was unbelievably fast. Only wish my 24-70mm f/2.8G was the newest version with VR- just for the faster autofocus. But that’s another story. Anyway, I’m plumb tuckered out emptying my piggy bank figuring how to pay for it all. lol. Night all.

I also have two other pelican cases and the large one does have the camera insert. Just in case anyone wants to know or needs one. I'll find the number and list it if anyone is interested.

Thanks David, I'm more interested in buying new, though.

Perfect for travel, storage and to leave in the trunk of the car during a shoot. Get a holdfast money maker two camera strap and a small think tank retrospective shoulder bag to hold your extra lens for "working" flexibility.

Thanks for the heads up. I own the moneymaker and a lens bag. Since the Pelican 1650 is big enough to keep all my gear in, not to mention waterproof, I’ll use that at home to easily get gear in and out of and take the MoneyMaker and lens bag on day shoots. Overnight I can put Pelican in trunk.

Could you clarify, please, whether these will be used for shipping, air travel to a destination, permanent storage, etc.? All of us face storage and travel challenges, and the intended usage could dictate the options.

Hello. Let me lay it out. I’m traveling across Georgia with friend running for U.S. Congress seat. Doing all his photography. And I’m definitely an amateur and kinda like it that way. It’s about the challenge and pride of accomplishment. So probably need the backpack. That was a novel idea I could get my head around; see, we’re traveling the road and that’s why the backpack. Also favor the idea of killing it in my new backpack. So, let’s say, “What’s the best backpack for the money to carry all my gear?”

The Pelican with dividers sounds nice. Don’t use foam as once it’s gone it’s gone. Haven’t considered a backpack. I’ll be traveling around the state on the campaign trail with my good friend who is running for Congress this fall. He’s getting his money’s worth cause I’m not charging him. Doing it for fun and experience. Besides, why let money ruin a good relationship. Will look more tomorrow. It’s late and the good woman is calling me to bed. Thanks and everyone have a blessed night. See you in the morning. Greer

I own a D7100 and a D750, along with SB-700 Speedlight. Looking for something to carry this gear along with Nikon’s Big 3 lenses. I have the 24-70mm f/2.8. The 70-200mm f/2.8 will be here this week, and I Know I will need the 14-24mm f/2.8 in the upcoming weeks. Gotten good comments often from UHH readers and need advice on the best value for the money in a tough, dependable, not terribly expensive case. Need it large enough to hold all my gear and still have a bit space for straps, hoods, etc. I’ve seen some pretty awesome gear. What would y’all say is the best current direction for cases if one is in the market for value for tough, dependable cases (not just the most expensive, please).

As the church photographer at my church, that happened to me only once. I always used bounce flash and got perfect photos indoors. The one time they all had a yellow/orange cast was when the flash was muted by placing it behind the flash Cauveryled. I was just starting out too.

Thanks y’all. Sounds like that third lens will have to wait. Maybe, if I walk softly and carry a big stick, maybe this Christmas.
