You can open an investigation for lost mail with USPS. That's a two-step process. You must wait a week between steps. The final step is to describe the package and it's contents, so should be done by seller. If it's insured, you should get a refund from eBay, and the seller makes a claim with USPS. Although I've done it both ways.

It is easier to just dump it in the sellers lap, and open a case for 'item not received'! But USPS has adopted the ittitating practice of marking lost packages as 'delivered' until they receive a request for lost mail. If it is marked 'delivered' in tracking, eBay will side with the seller. Paypal is also of no help if you receive nothing but tracking is marked 'delivered'.

So, I always start with USPS, to make sure they don't mark the tracking 'delivered'. Then, if, and only if the seller is uncooperative, I open a case on eBay. I've only hac to do that once. The other handfull of times it was resolved by the seller. I even had one where I covered all the bases, and I received a claim check from USPS AND a replacement item from the seller! So, just in case, start your process on all fronts.

If it is marked ''delivered', qnd you admit the charge was authorized, your cc company won't ordinarily backcharge the seller.

If you are a DIY type, I use a much more economical hanging system that I have been using for the last 15 years. It consists of black mesh (there is also white available) from online that is used for trucks and/or shade screens. I have sewn the top and bottom to slip PVC thru. The PVC is cut in half for easier transport. I have old aluminum tent poles that slip inside to keep the PVC together and more rigid. Steel pipe screwed together might work easier. I also use a hanger of some sort to support the top center of the PVC from the tent frame. Use small bungie cords to support the vertical sides to tent legs. I use u-bolts to hang top PVC from tent frame and small u-bolts to attach bottom Pvc to frame.

I have put photos together for exposition, not for sale though. If you're selling them as wall art, they should be framed. That makes them heavy, so you can't affix them with Velcro. I put them on foamcore, and put Velcro 'hooks' on each rear corner. I displayed them on loop-carpeted panels. Abvve the panels I had a flat board with full-spectrum LED ligjts in it. That means I needed power, but large battereis would work too.

I made everything myself for about $400.00., including the images. I used carpeting, plywood and contact cement for the panels; and a thin strip of plywood to hold the LEDs. I wouldn't rely on house lighting for your display, or your work won't look as good as it could. You can get different color 'temperature' LEDs, which go from around 5000--orangish like an incandescent bulb, to 9600--lile sunlight, or white LEDs--like moonlight. There are also other colors, but you probably wouldn't use those for exposition.

The things you want are lots of light, a sturdy structure that won't fall, and a secure way to affix the photos. Easel type displays are the worst. You can hardly fir anything on them, and you can never put next to each other differemt sized images, nor arrange them the way you want.

Carpeting and Velcro are infinitely configurable, even on the fly, right when your selling. If You sell one, the remainder won't be balanced. So, you have to rearrange. I didn't have to worry about selling the images, so I brought exactly what I needed. But you need to decide what to bring with you. Since you have no idea what people will like most, I'd bring no more than one copy of any image.

From an attendee perspective, the idea of an arts and crafts fair is to discover and celebrate local talent, and to patronize at least one of the the artists. No one wants to attend an arts and crafts fair and not wind up with 'something' they can tell people, "Oh, I got that from 'so-and-so artist at such-and-such art fair."

Serious buyers always want to negotiate prices. They think it's fun! Some of them don't really care how much they pay, but rather the amoumt it was reduced by negotiation. I was at an art fair at the Merchandise Mart in Chicago. It's a nationwide affair, but mostly Midwest artists. A guy entered the disply of an excellent sculptor (can't remember exactly which) and started negotiating with the artist!

This artist wasn't having any of it. So the buyer started adding other pieces to his deal. The artist finally decided to deal a bit, and he sold $57,000.00 worth of his work for $47,000.00! Sometimes it's tough to figure out how to play it for an artist, but I'd never witnessed a sell like that one! He played it perfectly!

So, the moral is, mark up everything by at least 20% from whwt you'd actually accept. But never initiate negotiation. Great artists are supposed to be less than adept at the business side. So, maybe this answer can get you going a bit! Selling photographic images as art--no matter how beautiful they are--reqiires lots of exposure, self-promotion, and diligence. Some artists hire a prticularly attractive individual (usually male) to work the dieplay with them, just to tout the art to visitors.

I'd definitely go for it! What do you have to lose? Otherwise, you'll always wonder 'what if'!

Always err on the side of preservation. Once they're gone they're gone for good! But they can always be disposed of. I really don't understand where all the work comes in in disposing of hundreds of photos. It's just not a very difficult task no matter how you look at it. That is one medium-sized box that must be carried to the trash! What could be simpler?

Your concern for your children is admirable, but don't sell them short. I don't think they would consider one box of trash a major inconvenience! It's hardly even worth mentioning! So, I think you're after a different answer such as, "Do adult children typically value photos of their ancestors?"

Yes, they typically do, unless the parent has been the worst parent, and indulged the child in every way! Spoiled rotten brats care about nothing but what they want in the moment, no matter what that is! They have no nostalgia, because they couldn't care less about anyone but themselves, and others only to the extent that they demonstrate some utility in whatever manipulative game the child wants to play at that moment!

You could do like my father. Pass on mementos--things once owned by deceased members of the family: trinkets, memoirs, photos, figurines, books; insignificant in objective value. In his will he stipulated that for each item of this sort, from a list he supplied to the executor, that each child could produce, (s)he would receive $5,000,000.00 from his portfolio.

That is an excellent way to distribute an estate, because it separates the quality individuals who value their heritage from the greedy, selfish manipulators who will blow their inheritances like drunken sailors! But all without judgment. The descendants judge themselves by their own choices! At least one Bible from the past, of the disposition spoken of above, was given to each child at one time or another.

Those are a favorite of rotten kids to toss almost immediately! He also wrote a quiz regarding his maternal Grandfather's memoirs, of which each child received a copy. Depending on the number of correct answers, a sum was disbursed as a condition of the will!

Once again, children who care about their heritage, and are therefore interested iin perpetuating it, receive more, because the entire purpose of an inheritance is to preserve one's genetic legacy into the future. Otherwise there wouldn't be much point to reproduction. DNA survives or perishes. One or the other, nothing in between. And the goal of each man is to leave in the world part of himself, to make it a better place for everyone!

Famous artists, writers and composers many times forgo reproduction in pursuit of excellence in their craft. They leave behind the beauty of their artistic creations, whereas most people leave it with the beauty of their biological creations! And they want their efforts to have the greatest impact for good for the longest duration possible!

If we make one simple observation of who the most famous people are, they are Jesus Christ and the Virgin Mary. The most enduring legacy is the Roman Catholic Church, with over 1700 years of continuous succession of Popes, and a body of law--The Code of Canon Law--in effect for the longest duration in history!

So, if people want their legacies to survive the test of time, they would be wise to emulate those who also have! It is written,

"I AM The Lord your God, Who brought you out of the house of bondage. I am a jealous God, visiting the sins of the the fathers upon the third and fourth generations of those who hate Me, but showing lovingkindness down to the thousandh generation of those who love Me and keep My Commandments!"

Which implies that the second group will go on for a 1,000 generations! So, we need ways to divide the wise children from the fools, and subsidize the wise while depriving the foolish! The only thing more laborious to bear than a fool's words are a rich fool's words!

But how does any of this tie into photography? How many times has one sought to behold the likeness of an ancient person, but none exists due to lack of drawing and painting materials in that era! Many people are famous for their likenesses alone, because it was preserved.

No one knows what the future brings. But I anticipate one day the entire gene pool back to the beginning will be mapped! We will be able to identify which individuals originated beneficial genetic mutations. It would be a great asset to that knowledge if the likenesses of these pioneers were preserved, so everyone knew what they looked like when they were alive.

I possess an impressive lineage chart of both sides of my family of origin, together with likenesses of many members, even ancestors who never left europe!

It is a fundamental longing to know who and where we came from, which is testified to by the popularity of gene mapping websites. A perfect fit for that is photographic records! Going into the future, seemingly insignificant personalities from the past may take on grest significence in the present time, and the photographic record is integral to the historical and biographical records!

Those who value not their own ancestral heritage neither value themselves, their country and police wnd military security forces, their race, or anything else of any kind, because they have no gratitude! Gratitude is the strong bulwark of humility, and only arrogance exists without it! Gratitude and humility are essential to truly love one's self and others! Love is what makes life worth living!

Therefore, without gratitude, life is only a series of encounters in which the individual tries to get more for himself than (s)he gives, so as to come out ahead in life! To these, old photos are so much junk, because they have no respect for others, least of all those they came from! Then, to place no value on the likenesses of those one came from is to lack gratitude in general, which is to mwke life not worth living, because one cannot receive love unless (s)he is capable of also giving love!

Maybe I answered a bit more than just the question. But now everyone has an understanding of the concepts involved. Knowledge is power!

You believe in a vast conspiracy between doctors, medical institutions, the media, etc, with the sole purpose of denigrating Mr. Trump? Really?

Now as far as your sources, you say they’re from the internet, which we all know is always reliable, rIght?. Now of course, there is both factual and inaccurate data on the web, which is why I asked you to post links for your sources. Where are they? And did you speak with any physicians (especially ER and Pulmonologists)? Any epidemiologists, virologists, public health professionals, researchers, Nurses? If you think the CDC data is inaccurate, did you check the sources of their data such as John Hopkins Medical Center? And if you don’t believe anyone’s data, have you compared the death rate due to disease from year to year to make an estimate of how many additional deaths above what’s expected from a regression of past years and the population? Maybe something like this?

Data from the National Vital Statistics System:

Life expectancy for the U.S. population in 2020 was 77.0 years, a decrease of 1.8 years from 2019.

The age-adjusted death rate increased by 16.8% from 715.2 deaths per 100,000 standard population in 2019 to 835.4 in 2020.

Age-specific death rates increased from 2019 to 2020 for each age group 15 years and over
Well, you won’t get banned for political opinions ... (show quote)

I actually did not indicate that anyone had incorrect figures on C***D deaths. I think I did a pretty good job of describing why the CDC set its 'advisory", not compulsory, guidelines for inclusion of a death as a C***D death. There is nothing incorrect but the perception and interpretation of the general public in regards to the manner of a "C***D death". Tue way I had imagined a C***D dreath turned out to be significantly different than what were be marked as C***D deaths by the states following the CDC reporting guidelines! I read the guidelines on the CDC website.

I did not say I don't trust the CDC. I did not say the CDC is wrong. I merely noted that the desths being counted as C***D deaths is different than what the general public might imagine, and different than the way any other nation keeps track of the numbers. I noted the sound and logical reasons for the way it was being done in the USA, and the benefits of doing so!

Again, I never said anyone was wrong about the count. I merely suggested ways to reconcile the count of C***D deaths to the way the average person consiiders it to be, due to symptoms of a C***D infection, with the total number, and so it is accurate with in relation to the rest of the world, as far as the effectiveness of the U.S. response! I mentioned nothing that would indicate a requirement for conspiracy on the part of the medical establishment, but only in the media directly comparing the U.S. death coumt with that of other nations.

Since the media likely was unaware, as it usually is about practically everything, it couldn't rationally be considered conspiracy. Everything was honest and upfront. Trump just took a beating because of the way the numbers were being counted. When it became obvious that there was some problem, the news media did nothing to resolve the issues.

I did not say the USA was wrong, or any nation! I merely stated the comparison that prompted my investigation in the first place. What is really at issue is whether the CDC reporting guidelines are as I describe, and whether states have been following them. I don't waste my time digging up sources for those who are resolute to disbelieve anything that shakes their fragile world view and or self-image!

It's not worth it. No matter how sound the source, it is still impugned as unreliable by those who fear the t***h! I don't know if you are one of those, but there's a lot of them on here! And maybe that's the draw of UHH, that there is nothing really serious or critical posted here, so everyone can just relax, without fear of their deep-seated belief systems being uprooted!

Given the amount of questioning and criticism I have received on my op, it's the last time I will ever post anything even remotely similar on UHH. The typical response I receive for informative posts that break open widely held beliefs is one of gratitude, awe and amazement! But that is from a much younger crowd not yet set in their wwys, and open to new ideas.

What I stated about diseases themselves is from my background in anatomy, physiology, biology and biochemistry; and having been hospitalized several times with pneumonia, with lots of doctors to answer all my questions. The remainder are conclusions I feel are rational based on the evidence.

Just curious, what are your medical/epidemiological credentisls and the sources of your information.
I just found what I was looking for on the Internet! I didn't actually mention any in-depth analysis on epidemics, certainly nothing that requires credentials to know.

I have some backgroumd in medical research, I've done it professionally, before the WWW. I can read and understand a physician's medication insert! But I just read a lot. I wouldn't try to practice medicine.

I've read the CDC guidelines. And the states, for the vast majority of the p******c, did report according to the CDC guidlines! That is according the Johns Hopkins central repository on C***D stats and information.

Really, everything is in plain view. It's just disguised! For instance, I can tell a lot about a person by what he's done with his life, how his children turned out, his body language, having a conversation, to a pretty in-depth degree, such that I've been accused of using surveillance equipment to spy on people I've never seen before!

What I find intuitively obvious others perceive as impossible for me to know! I'm like that with everything. But I make good use of it! I have 2 million+ online readers in 150+ countries!

I run a think tank that advises heads of state, church leaders, corporate and institutional; leaders, and on occasion the general public. There's nothing that special about me. I've just been working at or a long time.

T***h is free! It's like gold. You just have to dig it up. Sometimes you get lucky, others it takes a while. But I know where to look, because I'm an independent research scientist!

I do it a lot, so I'm good at it. Anyone can question anything, but it shouldn't be without some counterpoint! And I just read the rules, and my op borders on political content! But I can't edit it anymore. I hope I don't get banned!

So, either we cease to exist at some point, or we move outward in anticipation. I mean, 4 billion years can fly by just like 'that'! And then the sun explodes!

There's a book in which an advanced race builds a colassal computer to answer the question, "Life, The Universe and Everything!" The computer reports it will require 10 million years to run the program! After 10 million years, the philosophers ask what the answer is. The computer says, "42"!

So they make another computer the size of a planet. As it's program they convince the overabundance of marketing managers and hair dressers that their own planet is going to explode! Since marketing managers and hair dressers are the most important people to any society, they would be the first ones transported to the new planet!

The new planet is earth; and all mankind is descended from marketing managers and hair dressers! The collective intrlligence of humanity is calculating the answer to, "Life, The Universe and Everything!"

Maybe you should express this opinion to the over 1 million people in the US who died from it.

The CDC published advisory guidelines to states, for reporting C****-** deaths. To be classified as a C***D death, the deceased must fall into one or more of three groups.

Tested positive for C***D < 3 months pre, or post mortem
Was exposed to, or displayed symptoms of C***D < 3 months before death.
Died as a result of pneumonia caused by a C***D infection

This is significantly different than other countries. The count was done that way, because, after the data on C***D is organised into a databse, it will be easy to query it for the information one is seeking, if it is a subset of the information available. So, we can always view in retrospect the number of people who died as a result of pneumonia caused by a C***D infection, if we have at least 'that' data.

But we cannot analyze the indirect effects of a p******c using information only on those who died as a direct result of C***D symptoms! For that we need a bunch more data, and that's why the CDC wanted to include those involved in fatal auto collisions who also tested positive, suicide victims who tested positive, and a whole host of deaths not caused by pneumonia due to C***D.

All those who die of C***D actually die of a different infection. Once the C***D reaches the lungs, the immune defenses against it compromise the lungs, making way for opportunistic pathogens already present in the body. They're harmless anywhere but in the lungs. The i****e s****m or the lungs themselves must be c*********d. So, the C***D v***s itself doesn't k**l. It just evokes an immune response that can lead to death by attacking the lungs while fighting a secondary infection.

The opportunistic pathogens gain a foothold, and the immune cells secrete, among other things, elastase to break down elastin in the outer membrane of the secondary invaders. The invaders secrete elastase to destroy the elastin in the immune-cells, thereby k*****g 'them'. The lungs can stretch and contract--making breathing possible--due to high elastin content! The lung elastin is caught in the crossfire, and severe damage can occur, resulting in death, because the lungs lose their elasticity!

So, the goal is to gather data to determine the big picture of how much damage a p******c causes. Unfortunately, the U.S. death toll as publicized is not valid for comparison to other nations, nor does it reflect what the public understands it to mean!

The average person pictures all C***D deaths caused by pneumonia: the symptoms of a serious C***D infection! All those who die of the infection succomb to pneumonia! But that is true of only 10-20% of C***D deaths the way they are tallied in the USA!

It all began when Trump was president, and the media wanted to make him look as bad as possible. The media is now stuck reporting the C***D death toll in this flawed manner. Can you imagine the response if the death toll suddenly dropped to 200,000? It would be scandlous! But for comparing the US to other countries, the total C***D deaths as reported must be divided by at least 4, and more like 5!

So, it is a h**x and it's not! The death toll according to the way the public interprets it is grossly inflated! But it's still really bad! You just know, when the USA, with a population of 330 million, has twice the number of C***D death as India, with a population over 3x that, and the most popular cure for C***D in India is drinking cow's urine at C***D parties; there is some major malfunction going on!

That's what prompted me to investigate, and the t***h bears witness to my testimony! So, the USA has the lowest number of C***D deaths per capita, by far! The government has employed every conceivable means to trick the public regarding the severity of the p******c, and where the U.S. ranks in its response compared to the rest of the world!

But that doesn't mean we should drop our guard against C***D1 We should just add an additional guard against government pandering to public hysteria! I still wear a mask when I'm out! But I'll have to quit soon, or people will mistake me for a bandit! Women look really sexy in masks; very mysterious! So, it hasn't been all bad!

I was at a music festival to shoot a band, and apparently there weren't enough women's rest factilities. So the drunken teenage and twenty-something female rock fans just came in the mens, and squatted down at the urinals! I was almost in shock! There were maybe five young girls squatting among 20 urinals, the remainder being used by men! So, there must be more good guys in the world than bad guys, because no one dared do anything offensive to the girls!

It really made me think, "What's the world coming to?" But, I guess if the base is set in the floor tiles, women really can use urinals! In Paris the city put up outdoor urinals, so the males wouldn't take up restrooms, and the females could have some privacy indoors. But the feminists threw a fit, claiming that men publicly urinating in a standing position calls attention to dangerous social artifacts of masculine domination and superiority, which in turn threaten male-female equality!

So, a French reporter asked one of the protesters, "Would you be satisfied if all males were legally required to sit and pee like little girls?" The woman took him seriously and said, "Nothing less!" In French, of course. So, I guess feminism is the driving force behind female use of urinals; either that or too much beer and/or limited female-only facilities!

Which leads me to the unmistakable realization that the Christian influence, i.e. the first woman was created as a gift from God to the first man, has made Western culture the only world culture that doesn't treat women like dirt! They can get away with literally anything! If you want to know what it's like without chivalry, just look to Japan, Korea, Africa, Middle East, India and/or China!

There is a South Korean store front that translates, "Virgin Vietnamese brides for sale. If she runs away in the first year, we will replace her for free." Now that's love! It doesn't matter who she is as a person, as long as she has the correct body parts! No wonder Korean women won't have anything to do with marriage!

I ran across this must-have utility called czkawka. It is the best duplicate file finder I've found. It searches by cryptographic hash, so the files must be actual duplicates, not just same file name. It will also find 'similar' images and videos! It is extremely good, and fast!

On one machine with (2) 1TB NVMe drives, it found 95,000+ dupes in about 5 minutes. Random sampling revealed a statistical 100% accuracy! With similar images and videos it picked up 1 false alarm, but the images were essentially identical. I remembered the shoot, and that I shot that frame twice, because I feared camera shake the first shot.

So, it is possible to fool it. And I doubt it works with RAW formats for finding similar images. But for exact duplicates it's flawless! But don't ever trust any utility all the way. It has an option to select in several ways, such as 'all but newest'. Then you can move the dupes into image Purgatory, where they'll wait until you finally send them to deletion.

Or you can just delete based on several select criteria. And, No, 95,000 is not a typo. That machine is kind of a catchall for everything I don't feel like sorting through, but about 100GBs lighter now. The link for czkawka for Mac, Windows and Linux is: here .

I discovered Sirui about 5 years ago, reading a review that claimed a better tripod and ball head cannot be purchased for any price. I have a lightweight Sirui with a 15lb ball head, and a sturdier one with k30x ball head.

I have found that ball heads should be oversized by at least 3x the expected load. The k30x is 66lb, and my heaviest setup for that tripod is about 12lb. Sirui quick-release plates are available aftermarket, which can save $50 or more. The brand name plates for the k30x are $30. Aftermarket, $5.

But Sirui offers no warrantee outside purchases from authorized dealers. So, Amazon is out if you want a warrantee. B&H is a Sirui dealer.

I don't have a problem with lens creep, and I don't need to tighten it until my eyes pop out to get it tight. You can check it out: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/822264-REG/Sirui_BSRK30_K_30x_Ball_Head.html/?cnxclid=SZ_REDIRECT_ID

I just realized I don't keep track of how many megapixels I have. I know my point and shoot from the 2000s is about 3, or maybe 6. My everyday shooter is between 20 and 40, I'm almost positive. But I don't really get that much into MPs. I suppose I should know at least that much. But it doesn't help. I can remember top ISO rating, flash guide number, minimum focus distance, but not MPs.
