Freaking great advice, my man! I am off to try pano first, look into the other lens you mentioned.Thank you SO much!
the 16mm didnt look much different than the 18-55mm. ,aybe there are WA settings in the NEX-5 I dont know about. ty for your interest
thanks muchly. I like pano, too; will look into your suggested choice. dont know if I can afford the adapter and leica set-up- Is there another option that would work well?
I am about to list my Sony 18-55 mm and Soy pancake WAL in Ebay, replace both with Sony's 18-200MM lens. The reviews say this lens is a great general purpose lens; some claimed it opened up the NEX way beyond the kit lens. I really don't feel the WAL does m uch. I got romanced by the size and promise of the NEX, have been wrestling with it ever since. Then a few reviewers of the 18-200 made me think this would be a great solution for WAL shots inside houses mostly- my business is in real estate.
any comments?
this is very easy: secure the lens by using an adjustable wrench. Tighten wrench until filter pops off (have a towel to catch it). Lens barrel will be bent, send back fto manufacturer. good luck! :-)
Rented a great house on the beach at the North shore, Hawaii. Went out on the balcony to set up for the afternoon, and spotted two municipal-looking signs at the side of the house. Went down to see what's up; the signs said (this is 100% true):
"NORTH SHORE MUNICIPAL TOPLESS BEACH"
At the bottom in small print was municipal code data, and a thin red line ran around the edges- very official looking.
Turns out the owners were fun loving types, placed the signs in the sand , cracked a beer and waited for gullible girls to show up. after the girls got settled on a blanket, the guys in the balcony whistled, held up score cards with numbers 1-10 on them, and laughed like crazy. No, my wife and I didn't get into that!
(good thing it wasn't just me and my brother!)
When my wife and I went to Italy, (especially nervous about Rome), I bought a "pouch" style DSLR bag from Case Logic that hangs by a neck strap onto my chest. this kept the camera bag directly in front of me, not hanging on my hip. It had a zippered top, easy to get my camera out and shoot. I didn't have any problems the whole trip.
You da man, David! Finally saw the spots. Off to the shop go I. I've enjoyed all your comments, and learned a lot. Ty ,UHH
dunno why some pictures show up turned on their sides. I deleted one where that happened; resending. it looks great on my monitor; if it arrives sideways, probably early gremlins messing with me before Halloween
Dang it! grrrr sideways again
Hi Again!
As suggested, I edited out cars on the liftline shot. I failed in my attempt to remove the spots- to be truthful, I can't see them. Last comment: Of all my shots at Stowe, the biggest disappointment were my gondola shots. the one I am sending a good example- poor composition, sun glare, and more. I envisioned the gondole floating in air with glorious mountain in b/g. This one isn't it!
Comments and suggestions always welcome

PS- these are store original pictures
Thanks, David. I am still learnng nuances here in UHH, so I will be sure to alllow camera data.
Dunno why 2 showed up on their side; I could swear I rorated before sending. Thanks so much for favorable comments; the reviews of this post better than anticipated.
Bob
The best bear pictures show the bear's behind as he runs away from you, not toward you!
Thank all of you for replies. I came through the comments better than I thought. Have cleNed lens, Ty again. Will go edit out cars on lift line shot,
Felt same way. You guys rock !
With great fear and trepidation, I hereby submit three pictures taken at Stowe,Vt. for comments and critiques. I asked for advice here at UHH, and follwed the directions. I added a polarizer, shot mainly in manual, etc. I couls use some Post Processing to adjust, but let me know what you think. Thanks, folks!

I replaced my HP 8500 with the newer wireless 8600- vastly improved. they are more price competitive also. The initial ink supply lasted far longer than I expected. I can print from my HP desktop, iPhones, and MacBook Pro wirelessly without a problem
