As stated, google gatorland. I have not made it there yet but sounds like the aligator farm in St Augustine. You can get great rookery shots. Opens early on Sat I believe for photographers.
The Nikon is good choice if you have an APS DX camera, wouldn't put it on a full frame camera.
I use it all the time on D810 and D7500. Dont have to worry about getting right pressure on shutter release button to activate focus without release. Allows focus and use of a 2 second (or longer) delay to capture scene.
Thanks again to all for the advise. Looks like 16-35 will be my choice.
Looking at WA for D810, I have D810 w Nik 28-300, D7500 w Nik 18-200, Rokinon 2.8/14mm for astro, Tamrom 150-600. Looking for landscape lens. Choice between Nikon 16-35 F/4 and Tamron 15-30 2.8. The Nikon will take a polarizer and the Tamron will not without added cost. Comments on choice welcome please. WA for 7500 an option because of less weight.

A good replacement for that is a Sigma 150-600 lens.
I have the Tamron 150-600 G2 and have not had a problem and very pleased with the lens. Only thing I can say abour problem is to check the switch on camera and the lens, also the G2 can be set for certain focal loengths. If you have it set for distance objects it may not focus if subject is in a closer setting range.
Yes I got picture, Newerr head may ot be better than the one I have. I'll think on it.
Who is maker of gimbal head? Send picture if you have. ingramrph@comcast.net
I did western parks bus tour. Had only a couple hours at Monument Valley, first trip & probably last time there. I took some nice shots of red rock monuments but sky was blah. Just replaced sky for my own use and like it much better. May not be true shot but expresses my feelings better. Shooting film I always wanted to paint in detail, photoshop and digital allows artistic desire.
Have D7500 and bought used 810. Happy with 810 until I try to touch LCD to change settings or need to tilt LCD because of position. I wished I had the 850 not the 810.
Don't wait, my wife and I did a Caravan Bus tour of the parks last year, I'm afraid I waited to long (76) I could not walk the trails I wanted. Had to see Monument Valley, G.C. so so, most enjoyed staying in park at Zion.
Google Earth allowed me to virtual walk the trails at Zion and Grand Canyon before the trip. Try them out to see what interests you.
Hi I have the G2 and heard same reports, I have on occasion reduced to 500mm which is reported sharper. I suggest a trial, static detailed subject and shoot at 500 then 600 and compare. I feel your bluebird is tack sharp and no need to spend extra money.
I don't see enough difference to matter.
