Back in the 1950s my dad and i would go to the local A&P and pick out the best watermelon which was at least 2 feet long. I think they cost something like 50 cents.

My Epson Eco Tank printer costs me about $15/year. The ink lasts for quite some time and the replacement ink is cheap. The printer is good, not a pro printer for everything, but if I need something for the Smithsonian, I'll pay to have it printed. (No one from the Smithsonian has ever asked me for a print)

Don't give up hope. You never know.

What is the best time of day to photograph a body of water in order to get good reflection.
Thanks
John

I always liked shooting at dawn when the water is flat and glistening.

You should see what a set of ink carts cost for a Canon Pro 1000.

Yes it's very dear, but it's actually cheaper than ink for the Prograf 300 per ml.

We had a couple of serious close calls. During one of them men were freaking out scared. Like yelling to God for help scared.
But for the most part I just thought it was the coolest duty in the navy.

Takes tremendous courage. My brother was a medic in Nam. Totally messed him up.

The neighbor tends to use my water faucet to water her lawn. What happened if I put a warning sign on the faucet saying something like "DANGER! Do not use. May cause serious injury or death!". Am I in any kind of trouble for doing so?

Just turn the water faucet off inside the house. It must have a shutoff valve.

Back in the 1970s, I bought a Miranda Sensorex, and that was my sole camera (I think) until I bought the Nikon F Photomic. Today, I can't imagine having just one working camera. Do any of you have just one working camera?

I have only 1 camera and that is all I can shoot with at 1 time. The answer is the lenses. I have 4 of them and I find that they suffice for whatever I'm shooting; a Canon R6 with the EF 16-35 f4, RF 24-105 f4, RF 100-400 f5.6-, and the RF 600 f11. I have been extremely happy with the results.

And that "weak force" actually holds the universe together.

Tonight the Yankees offense woke up as they defeated the Oakland A's 11-0.

But that's not the story here.

Yankee pitcher Domingo German who gave up 17 runs, 15 earned in his last two starts in less than 6 total innings pitched, became part of baseball history tonight by pitching a PERFECT GAME!

27 batters faced, 27 retired, with 9 strikeouts and only going to 3 balls on 2 batters, retiring both.

The game ended less than 2 minutes ago.

It was the 24th perfect game in major league history and the first since 2012.
Tonight the Yankees offense woke up as they defeat... (show quote)

Against a virtual minor league team the Oakland Athletics which used to be the real thing.
