Thank you.

I bought one of the first ones. I used it once and quickly realized its limitations. Put it back in the box and stored it away. Can't even find it now. If I could I would send it to you.

Has anyone had experience with this lense on APS-C format? Interested in using it as walk around with Canon 80D, though not finding one available new or used now.

This is my exact walk around combination. Very pleased with this lens on my 80D.

Penny. I got in my change. Always check your change!

I have been saving these pennies for years. Have >1,000 of them. Found another one in my wife's change just the other day!

Would love to try what you are doing but I haven't "camped" in 50 years. I also have the Canon 80D and an iPhone 12 Pro Max. Sad to say I take more pictures with the iPhone.
Are you aware that there is a smartphone section to the UHH? https://www.uglyhedgehog.com/s-135-1.html

Thank you. I will try my 24-105 first and see how it works.

I also have an 80D and would like to try it as a webcam. What lens do you use?

What a great idea. I once was part of a class for high school students who did the same thing. We were around water and I was shocked to see them taking pictures underwater. They knew which end of their iPhones they could put in the water. Loved their creativity.

Hi, Latsok,
First, be aware that there is now an active Smartphone Photography Section where your question is more likely to get more informed responses.
My experience is having used the iPhone11ProMax and now the iPhone12ProMax is that the improvement is significant. Sensor (and pixel) size of the back cameras are 47% larger, so right off the bat the really impressive images became noticeably more so! And the combined effects of improved “computational photography” and ProRaw are impressive! Bottom line? I’m delighted that I “moved up”. I just got back an 18”x36” enlargement of a TIFF file from a raw exposure and discernible detail rendition and resolution is amazing!
Be sure to check out the new Smartphone Photography Section. You will find lots of tips and hints that will help to improve your enjoyment of cellphone photography!
Best regards,
Dave

About two weeks ago I upgraded to the 12 Pro Max. Love everything about it and have never looked back I agree with everything you said. Don’t drop the DSLR camera. If you only upgrade your phone every 5 generations or so spend the extra money now for the new chip, much improved camera & raw capability.

This year I plan to purchase an e-bike. Some of the backroads here in PA have no shoulder and as I drive through the countryside I often see things I would like to photograph and simply can't because there is no place to pull over and park. On very very backroads where traffic is almost zero, I'll stop in the middle of the road as long as there are good sight lines in front and behind that would allow me to see oncoming vehicles, and shoot through my window. Other times there is light but steady traffic and it is not possible to stop even for thirty seconds. I think an e-bike makes sense to get some of these shots. I'm sure someone will suggest a regular bike but with a bad knee, it would only work on flat ground. The pressure of going up hills would not work. So far it looks like two bikes are well reviewed and are affordable: espin bikes and Hemiway bikes. They are both around 1500.00. The Hemiway has a more powerful 750 watt motor but weighs 72 lbs. The espin has a 500 watt motor and weighs less. Does anyone have experience with e-bikes? I would like to hear your experiences.
Thanks in advance for anyone who responds,
Mike

With full disclosure my son works for RAD in Seattle. Not only will an e-bike allow you to safely ride those back roads on your photography explorations but they will allow you to go off road in search of that perfect shot. Speaking of shots one of their biggest markets is hunters who are looking for an easier way to get deeper into the woods.

Agree with all of these points! Lancaster County has so many great places to visit.

Traveling from Vineland, it wouldn’t be too inconvenient to stop short and visit Longwood Gardens in Kennett Square, PA. Longwood Gardens is among the most magnificent botanical gardens in the world and is a true wonder. It’s about a two hour drive from Gettysburg and about an hour’s drive from Lancaster.

Agree, I have spent a number of days at Longwood Gardens. It is an all day adventure. Just down US Route 1 is Chadds Ford. If you like Andrew Wyeth spend some time at the Brandywine River Museum and take a drive along Route 100.

What you have heard about the Epson Perfection V600Photo scanner is incorrect, in my experience. I have an I-Mac with extra hard drive capacity and an external hard drive back-up. I have done all manner of scanning, film, slides and digitizing photographs. It works flawlessly and I can heartily recommend it, without reservation.

I totally agree. I use the V600 scanner with my Macbook Pro laptop and use external hard drives. I have had this scanner for a few years and did have some problems which were solved with a software download. I am not sure but believe it was to convert it from 32-bit to 64-bit. Has worked perfectly ever since.

I remember Lotus 123 very well. Ran my first sports betting program from a Lotus 123 spreadsheet starting in about 1984! Sometime in the 1990's converted to Excel.
