Canon has forty models that can be used as web cams. I doubt that any of my compacts qualify, but if you have a Canon camera, you might want to look into it. I got an email telling me about that feature.

I believe that most any dslr, mirrorless, or go pro can be used as a web cam if it has an hdmi port. You will also need a device such as the Elgato cam link (or similar) to connect your camera to your computer USB port. I have successfully used this setup with my Fuji mirrorless camera.

As long as they don't overheat, most all can.

My Canon 80D works great as a webcam; been using it as such for months. I do use the Canon software which works flawlessly with Zoom.

Jerry, I am a Nikon shooter yet I like the Canon M50 as a Webcam. Many others do as well.

I also have an 80D and would like to try it as a webcam. What lens do you use?

I use my Tamron SP 24-70mm F/2.8 Di VC USD G2. I like the focal length range and the stability of f/2.8 throughout.

I am a rank amateur and don't have a big budget for a lot of kit. I feel that, for the money, this is a terrific general purpose lens and it works very well with my 80D for Zoom webcam sessions.

Thank you. I will try my 24-105 first and see how it works.
