The composition of the first shot better suits the size and positioning of the dragon fly.

I own a Tamron 150-600 G1 and also recently purchased a Sigma 150-600 Sport. I have no complaints re. my Tamron other than the fact that the auto focus is a bit slower than the Sigma Sport: the picture quality from both is excellent and with no exposure problems with the Sigma as previously noted by another member testing a rental lens. The most notable difference between the two lenses is that the Sigma Sport is almost twice the weight of the Tamron due primarily to the additional glass incorporated which makes it virtually impossible for my 71 year old bones to hand hold when attached to my D850 with MBD-18 grip. Additionally, the Sigma is built like a tank and is fairly well sealed against virtually anything mother nature can throw at it. As much as I enjoyed the Tamron it will soon be going on the auction block as I have switched totally to the Sigma.

I personally like the shot as is but also would have liked it if you had increased exposure by a half stop or so. Given the sun has topped the horizon I would think that what your eye saw was somewhat brighter than the picture. If your camera is capable of spot metering try taking your next sunrise reading the light just to the left or right of the sun and your image should end up much closer to what your eyes saw; metering directly on the sun will generally cause you to underexpose a bit and give you the silhouette effect. BTW, I'm surprised that no one has told you your horizon is off a bit - I'm not a stickler on horizons unless they are grossly off but in the short time I've been on this site I've been amazed by the number of "horizon" critiques.

The PrimeFilm XA is definitely worth consideration for 35mm film strips and slides. Used in conjunction with Silverfast scanning software you get excellent control of resolution and unequaled removal of artifacts (dust). I've been using one for more than 2 years now to archive my nature slides and old film strips. The only draw back is that it is no speed demon but the output quality is worth it.

I own the Tamron 60mm macro SP F2 DII aps-c lens and the 90 mm macro SP F2.8 DI full frame lens. Both have provided me excellent results and at far lower cost than their Nikon equivalents. I use the 60 mm on my D7200 and the 90 mm on my D810 and D850.

Looks great after straightening the horizon and I see ample water movement in the lower left quadrant. Good job.

You might want to consider the HP ZDisplay Dreamcolor series of monitors if you are looking for faithful color reproduction and great resolution. I purchased a 24" Dreamcolor in 2015 and have absolutely no complaints against it. ZDisplays are carried by B&H and range in price from about $600 to over $3100 depending on size and features. Worth considering. The ZDisplay is in the over 1 billion color range rather than the typical "millions of colors".

Doesn't seem you've gotten an answer to the Amazon part of the question. Generally, Amazon is pretty good about identifying if a camera or lens is U.S. or import if Amazon is the actual seller. Under Amazon Prime, Amazon not only sells photo equipment that is its own equipment, but also equipment that it warehouses, sells, and ships for outside vendors. Amazon will identify the vendor whose mdse. it is selling under the prime listing but has no control over the U.S./Import status of a product unless it is clearly identified in the ad - therefore buyer beware. Ads that are carried by Amazon for outside vendors who ship directly after Amazon forwards an order are just as risky unless they clearly state the U.S./Import status of their equipment in the ad. For all outside vendors it is best to contact them directly to ascertain the status of their mdse. with some certainty.

More properly named Dendrobium crumenatum this delicate little bloom only appears a few days following heavy rains and wind. It has a delicate scent and only lasts about a day. Should bloom like crazy if we have another hurricane this year. Nikon D850, Tamron 90mm F2.8 macro VC, handheld, F11, ISO 400, overcast sky.

I have a Vello D810 grip collecting dust that came with a used D810 I purchased (U.S. model with <500 shutter count) to use as a backup; my original D810 had a Nikon MBD12. The Vello was a real light weight compared to the Nikon grip - about half the weight, felt like a plastic toy, the bottom wasn't flat, and the controls were not as responsive as the as the Nikon grip. Needless to say, I quickly sidelined the Vello and purchased a second Nikon grip. When I received my D850 I immediately purchased the Nikon MBD18 and BL-5 adapter and have absolutely no complaints concerning the quality. If you are going to spend big dollars for a pro level Nikon, why chintz on the attachments?

I went on B&H's preorder list in mid March and received my D850 April 12. While waiting for B&H to restock I kept looking into EBAY as a potential source and all the sellers already mentioned here as well as dozens more were selling grey market D850,s at roughly the same price as the reputable dealers and in some cases for thousands more. I suppose I was lucky to receive mine in just under a month from B&H but it was well worth the wait - wouldn't trade my D850 for anything else available out there. It appears B&H gets a small restock at roughly 30 to 45 day intervals so just be patient. BTW, I never received a restock notice from B&H, just a shipping notice and the camera was in my hands the following day.
