I have been in the list at B&H and Adorama, just like a lot of other folks. Everyone once in awhile I will search the net, and guess what I found today. 3 places, had in stock, Nikon D850.
42ndstreet photo, which we all know is not the most honest place.
abesinmaine, which again is not the best in the world
And then I ran across this place, had never heard of it Dealsoftheyear.

Now of course, the old if its too good to be true, it most likely isn't. All 3 have the import model. You have to dig a bit to find that. 1 year warranty, 30 days parts, by seller.
Wish Nikon would kick it into overdrive.
"waiting on the D850 in Olympia" ...lol

I walked into Samys Camera in Los Angeles in January and left with a D850. They are not that hard to find anymore.

I hear you there..but darn, its hard...I figure by the time they are in the stock, they will be bringing out the D900....
When did you order? According to Cameraegg tracking Adorama is shipping orders placed May,1.

Got on the list with B&H early April. Adoram, I think mid April

They are both closed until Tuesday, but you should be showing us your D850 images very soon.

Yes they are. I need to order a new battery grip for my D500, it stopped working on Friday. It went through a swim in the Pacific Ocean back in January. Along with my D500, nice to have insurance. I went swimming in about 3 feet of water...but got a couple of really epic wave shots.

Be patient and get a USA version.

Oh I know that. No way would I purchase a grey market camera or lens...
Apparently Nikon is playing some kind of game with its U.S. customers. Outside the U.S., the D850 is readily available... so much so, overstock is exported to the U.S. market and sold as grey market product. I suspect this artificial scarcity of the D850 on the U.S. market is Nikon's strategy to keep demand and price high.

Curious as to how you have come to this conclusion. I am not saying you are incorrect, just asking where you get your information.
On February 8, 2018 I saw a stack of 3 Nikon D850 on the shelf plus the floor model in:
Camera Lane Camera Store
391 Little Bourke Street
Melbourne Victoria 3000
+61 3 9670 0560
Australia
Have you checked Best Buy, Walmart and Target. STAY AWAY from 42nd Street Photo!!! I bought mine from Best Buy.
