within Lightroom move all your images to the external drive. Exit Lightroom and copy your catalog to the external drive. Unmount (eject) the drive from your old iMac and connect it to your new iMac. Open LR on the new iMac then open your old catalog on the external drive. If all goes well you should be all set to go. If you see a ? On your image folder you can right click on it and choose to find the folder in its new location. Navigate to the folder location on your external drive and select it. All the ? Marks should go away and you’re set to go.

I have used trackballs, mice, wacom tablets and the apple trackpad. By far I find the Apple Trackpad built into the MacBooks to be the most capable all around device I've ever tried. There are still some fine detail work items the Wacom Pen on a tablet deals with better.

You have to take a little bit of time to learn all the available options the trackpad has to offer but it's just so dang easy for zooming, selecting, panning and nearly everything else all in one device.

My Photography club were never really satisfied with several projectors we had. The Epson was probably the best ... then we got a 55 in TV which blew the projector out of the park. All happy chapies now.

If you don't need portability I completely agree! You can get 60" or larger displays for not much money these days and you don't need to replace bulbs.

talk to your local school district. many of of them have regular equipment replacement schedules but they also have fairly strict laws on how they're allowed to dispose of tax dollar purchased hardware. If you're a non profit or have an education oriented mission statement they may be able to give you a projector.

I’m curious if you’ve got good active virus/malware scanning software running?

So whats your opinion of the best values in used Digital bodies? I'm hankering to get a non-mirrorless body personally, full frame or APS-C, as an option in deference to my mirrorless Sony which seems too small in my hands. While my lenses cover Nikon, Minolta and Pentax screwmount, maybe there will be others interested as welll so anything goes. I'm going to personally peg my budget somewhere under $1K but others may have a higher budget.

The first thing I want to know is - What are you going to use it for? Sports, Landscapes, BiF? Looking at Nikon the D500 and D750 really have different target markets...

Thanks for your suggestions-very helpful. Maybe it’s time to buy a flash...

That was going to be my suggestion - a good reason to get a flash that will bounce off the ceiling :) SB-500 or 700? I've got an SB-700 and love it

I'm surprised they're keeping 2 - why not go to 1 repair facility. Either way I have to mail it somewhere

The Fuji X-T2 is a much better camera than the Nikon D5600. But it's more expensive. It's even more expensive than the newer (supposedly improved) X-T3.

i agree with others, this is sort of an apples to oranges comparison... $1,500 or one or $600 for the other? More like a Fuji X-T3 or a Nikon D500

Or one of the Olympus Tough cameras. I have one of the Fuji XP cameras, they take pretty good photos.
They are dust proof, water proof and shock proof. Mine has a 3X optical zoom.

Completely agree - we get them for our school kids to use as they beat the heck out of stuff, The olympus tough cams hold up well.

I have been photographing birds and flying insects for the last ten years. Being very aware of their numbers, I am sorry to say the the decline of both has been alarming. This year, in particular, has been very bad. We had NO Robin migration, very few Warblers, woodpeckers are now rare, and birds of prey are seldom seen. I used to hear Owls, but not now. More trees are sick and dying than should be as well.

All of this is occurring as the geoengineering in the sky has accelerated: It is now a daily occurance in our area (Dallas-Ft. Worth). The major culprit is definitely Aluminum particles which is 30% of aerosols that are sprayed by aircraft flying at the top of the troposphere.

I invite all who read this to google "What in the World Are They Spraying". This 1:37:00 minute video does a good job explaining much more than the simple loss of birds.
I have been photographing birds and flying insects... (show quote)

I live in northern Minnesota and we have more birds now than I remember as a kid. Morning doves that I never heard as a kid (50 years ago) are common now, hawks, eagles, owls, sandhill cranes, swans as well as the common little birds like robins and chickadees.

...Aircraft and Aluminum spray?......sounds like a conspiracy theory to me....

LOL you got that one right - "the contrail conspiracy" Here's a link since the original poster didn't. I personally know 3 people who still think the earth is flat too...

Have you checked Amazon, B&H or Adorama? If prices are comparable avoid e-bay. I've seen people pay more for an item on e-bay than they would have paid from B&H and generally you're lucky to get a 30 day warranty for anything on e-bay.
