Only reason I use my cell phone to take a pic and send it is because I have not figured out how to use the darn phone and send a 30mb JPEG from my D850. My old cell died last October and I had no choice but to get a smart phone. I don't give a rat's tail about the phone's technology; it's mostly hype and marketing B S anyway. In the grand scheme of things you will have little choice and will be forced to buy something just to stay afloat. Technology is a two edged sword. One of its negatives....the techno junk pile keeps getting higher and deeper when every "new and improved" iteration is introduced. If you manufacture it, YOU should be responsible for figuring out how to recycle the junk! Sadly we live in a society that wants instant gratification and most things disposable.
The State of Illinois could sure use another Abe Lincoln to get the state out of it's mess!
No doubt Mr Lincoln was the right man at the right time in this country's history. As for great presidents, Mount Rushmore says it all for me....the BIG FOUR.
This shot is almost 13 years old; took it with my first Nikon DSLR, a D70s with kit lens. The D70s is long gone; I still shoot that kit lens on occasion. I had no idea what I was doing; simply took the shot. Red roses for me are some of THE most difficult flowers to photograph to get excellent definition and more. I lucked out on this shot.
The ice jam making news on the Kankakee River in Illinois where Interstate 55 crosses the river near Wilmington, IL (Exit 241). First shots are from just upstream of I-55; the last three shots are downstream of I-55. Shooting the ice jam was like shooting wave action on the ocean, no wide angle lens wide enough to give you the real perspective. We are talking miles of ice both upstream and downstream; shoreline to shoreline. You can cross the river on big slabs of ice if you dare. The I-55 bridge across the river is visible in shots one and two for some perspective.
Nothing quite like a granddaughter! I know, we have one grandchild, a granddaughter! CONGRATS!
Looks more like a sandstorm!
I like your shot as is!!!! I love this quote......"If Photoshop is the answer, then you are asking the wrong question!"
The Sedona area has a lot of great photo ops when you can get around what humans have done to spoil the vistas. The State of Oregon got it right, the way they handle their Pacific Coast. Man made structures, houses and more, are not allowed within a certain distance of the shoreline. Why ruin the view. I don't care how much money you have. I know a place in the Sedona area that has gorgeous scenery; the whole place is under private ownership and is fenced and gated. NO TRESPASSING!!! WHY????
My family has grounded me for today, Wednesday January 30th. I am NOT allowed out of the house. Now I know what it feels like to be in jail! Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.......................
Like the hairdo on the first two pics!
Brain coral....on LSD????
COOL pic! I have a couple of older Nikkor manual focus prime lenses that give me those 14 point star bursts when there are bright light sources. No filter required.
Nikon D850 has a 1:1 in camera crop factor available; it produces a 1:1 square image.
Because of what McDonald's is starting to pay their help now, more and more locations locally have gone to ordering kiosks and fewer actual workers. I find the lack of interaction a cold thing. I feel I am not welcome any more. They cannot even get an order for a large UNSWEETENED ice tea correct now.
Now I know who really does your post processing.................
