I have had my EM 1 Mark ll for about 3 years now and I can't say enough good things about this camera and Olympus pro lenses. I have a nikon z6 that I very seldom ever use, the Oly is my go to camera, and I pretty much only use it for wildlife. You can see some of my work here, https://www.facebook.com/RayReederPhotography

The EOS R5 will change how we think about mirrorless, how we think about photography, how we think about life.

Olympus already did that for me....

I use the Priority Mail triangle mail tubes, they are free at the post office.

Or if you shoot an Olympus EM 1 Mark ll camera, you can correct in camera before you take the shot.

Ray - You have some great pictures, especially your cover of Paintsville. I am an enthusiastic amateur concentrating mostly on birds and wildlife. I am 77 and good health with a bum shoulder that makes handling the Sigma 150-600 challenging at times. Your 300 Pro looks like a fantastic lens but not in my budget range. Thank you for responding. Thank you Larry, look into the Panasonic 100-400, it's also a great lens.

I have been on UHH for a couple of years and thoroughly enjoy reading it nearly everyday. I have a Nikon D7500 with a Sigma 150-600 Contempary and love it but due to its weight decided to venture slowly into Mirrorless. I have 3 E-series lenses I used on a Olympus E-620 DSLR many years ago before going with Nikon. Recently purchased a good used Olympus OM-D E-M1 mirrorless from B&H for $319.00 and an adapter so I can use the Olympus E-Series lenses. So far the results seem quite good. Any UHH folks doing anything similiar. Larry H.

I have been shooting an Olympus EM 1 Mark ll for about 3 years now, and I shoot with the Olympus 12-100 pro and the 300mm F4 pro and I absolutely love that camera and both of those lenses are tack sharp. Check out some of my photos at facebook.com/RayReederPhotography

here's one of the best pro capture shots I have from the EM1 Mark ll, the crossbow fired the arrow at 350 feet per second.

I concur. Olympus cameras are great and light weight. For long focal lengths you could also consider the Panasonic 100-300mm (The second version). It is cheaper.

since the new models came out there are some good prices on the Olympus EM 1 Mark ll, the Panasonic/Leica 100-400 lens is still not cheap, but it is a fantastic lens for birding at 200-800 mm at 2X crop factor.

You know I’ve never contemplated weight vs image quality
I can tell you that for air travel I purchased Olympus with 2 lenses
When I got home I wasn’t expecting what I found
Sharp, crisp, quality, colorful images even made blow ups without “grainy” results
Than I did some of my own tests against my FF nikons - I sold my nikons and shoot Olympus

same here! I love my Olympus EM 1 Mark ll and my Panasonic Leica 100/400 for wildlife, and I have a Nikon Z6 and a Tamron 150-600 that I very rarely use.

I have a Canon ProGraf 24 inch wide format printer and after the test cartridges started running out I bought Ink Owl ink cartridges and have had very good results.

like me I believe you are a good candidate for the Olympus EM 1 Mark ll and the Panasonic/Leica 100-400 lens. This combo is about as small and light as you can get, and the 2X crop factor of micro 4/3 will get you a field of view of 200 to 800 mm. But for even lighter weight, the Olympus 75-300 lens . I am 66 and got tired of the back ache and shoulder ache of my D750 and Tamron 150-600 G2. For the past 3 years now photography is fun again.

I have had the Panasonic/Leica 100-400 for 3 or 4 years now and it is a fantastic lens. I use the Olympus EM 1 Mark ll and it is my go to system for my wildlife photos. You can see samples shot with this combo here: http://www.facebook.com/RayReederPhotography

Raw Therapee for your raw files, or Darkroom, they are both open source software and free and very good, for my jpegs I use SmartPhoto editor, a fantastic program for around 50 bucks or less.
