When we rode it on the 14th, we rode in the night sky car; #11 of 12 total. Turns out that was too far back to get a lot of good shots of the engine as it would have already disappeared around a curve before we would be in the right spot.

In the second picture here, there was one car between us and the first red one. You can also see most of the strong color was already gone. We may do this ride again in a few years and try to go a week or two earlier.

Here are a couple of more from today's scouting mission. These are on US 87 north of Amarillo where it intersects with FM1913 to the east and SR354 to the west. The whole location is somewhat of a mysterious compound of some type. I'm still trying to figure it out.

pretty sure from the hood design it is a 48 or close to that. I have a picture of a 48 Phillips service truck a similar design
somewhere; will try to find it.

I really like that last one. It must be the earliest version of modern signs depicting an image of a motorcycle or bicycle with the same message.

thanks, I'll be doing more riding as the weather cools this fall, so should have plenty of opportunities to capture others.

and for the unexpected location for finding a mural. also proof we really did ride--not a mural but OH WELL.

I think they have been history for some time now. We gave up on them several years ago.

Guitar overdose

Olympus OM1 with a 135mm lens. Later added a 50mm f1.2, a Soliger 35-140 zoom, and a motor drive. Still have all of it along with a growing collection of old cameras we acquire at garage sales and shops going out of business.
