Do people read what they wrote...
I'm just curious how many people read what they wrote prior to pressing send. I'm curious because I read so many posts that are riddled misspelled words, misplaced punctuation, too much punctuation, or that simply make little to no sense. I don't know, maybe it's because there is a high population of folks here far older than I, (I graduated high school when Richard Nixon was president of the USA), and maybe their visual acuity isn't what it used to be. Far to often I read posts that contain way, to, many, commas, or run on sentences that really don't convey much of a message in the first place but instead just use a whole lot of words strung together that are more filler than are useful or meaningful in relation to the point being made or questions being asked. Could it be this post is simply the result of myself waking up in the middle of the night and desperately needing a way to bore myself back to sleep?!
While I'm on this soap box, I often wonder if many people actually read what others have posted in response to an OP'S original post? I wonder if posters who leave 500 line dissertation realize the average person doesn't read past their third sentence so all the run on effort was just a waste of time and typing. I mean for goodness sakes, it's and electronic bulletin board, not a shared version of Kindle.
I hear my pillow calling, time to go back to bed. It was nice chatting; good night...
Fourth line, the words "to" should have been spelled "too". That's as far as I got, I skipped the rest.

That's the real question.
Q. "Should I get the Nikon D3400 or the D5600?"
A. "The 70-200mm lens is fantastic. I never leave the house without it, camera or no camera."
As for the less than perfect writing, I try to read what I write, but this isn't for publication. Occasional typos get through. On the other hand, some people will write two dozen lines with no paragraphs and very little punctuation. As you said, after the first three lines, I move on.
When I see some poor grammar or spelling mistakes I begin to lose interest.
Also if the post is to long, I usually stop reading it.

I get bored reading some other peoples answersto the question if it's not written well or no punctuated is used. I'm from your era. But remember, the person that wrote the question (referred as the OP or Original Poster) is the one that will probably read what everyone has posted, not the respondents. Sometimes I just throw my 2 cents in and don't read anything the others have to say. I type 50 wpm and get typos all the time. But I figure this is a photography forum, not a spelling or grammar forum so who cares. Not me unless it's riddled with errors. I've got a friend that has more college than me and he still can't spell. He's an avid reader, but can't spell. Oh well.
I agree with what you're saying. The dissertations that people write bother me. They include so much information that is irrelevant. There's no need to know everything they've done with photography since 1959. I move on to the next post. People also need to proof read their posts. I edit mine sometimes after re-reading.
