Love the look on Mr. Goldfinch's face. What a great pose.
Thanks,

From what I remember from ground school, the problem is usually with the color red.

One lubricant that might work and be safe to use is dry lubricant with teflon. You spray it on, let dry completely and you have a layer of DRY teflon left on the surfaces. I use it on all types of lubricant problems when I spray it on a lathe insert before use it makes the insert cut better and last almost twice as long as not sprayed.
NEVER USED IT ON A CAMERA!!! It does dry and the teflon passes a white glove test.
Just my 2 cents,
Rick
L*****t politics? What BS. Corporate greed is more like it. If you can get it done with prison labor in China to save pennies then that's the way things will go.

I've only known it as the long "I" until I started watching Youtube videos, then I heard a Brit pronounce it with a short "I". I almost wrote a similar post last week. I'm sticking with Nyekon like Paul Simon pronounces it. "I've got a Nikon camera, mama don't take my Kodachrome away".

Thank you! A great explanation of what drives me, too, when I put on my mask to go in a store where almost no one is wearing one.
It seems to me it's also a good representation of the stupidification of people. When your political beliefs overrule your respect for the lives of children and elders, there is something seriously wrong.
I am not religious, but I do believe in God. Mark 12-31 says it best, "Love thy neighbor as thyself". Even if your mask is itchy.
Ya'll take care,
Rick
Awhile back I bought a used Nikon 8000 series "Coolpix" camera so I could always have a camera in my pocket. I bought twp Wasabi batteries and a charger. I had intermittent problems, such as the camera not staying on or turning on and then going right off again.
When I measured the batteries physical dimensions I found some slight differences with the Nikon battery. The Nikon battery has never failed or caused a problem. I've used Eneloop as well as Wasabi brands with other cameras and had no problems.
Just to be safe I'm saving for a new Nikon battery for my D300.
Good luck,
Rick
I had read so much about doing a firmware update, that I approached it with trepidation. I read enough comments about not starting without doing a battery charge first to drill that into my head as essential. I went to the Nikon website and read their instructions from top to bottom. It was at the bottom of the firmware update instructions there was this:
Detailed Firmware Upgrade instructions
Nikon should have added. "for dummies", for folks like me who had a trembling finger just about to hit a key to start. Using these instructions, the process was so fast I almost went back to do it again. I don't know if Canon, Fuji or other camera makers have something similar, but you might want to do some looking around to see if they do.
Relax, have a cup of tea, and get started. It will be over so quickly it will surprise you.
Good luck,
Rick
I have bought several books on cameras and many others from Amazon used books. Never been burned and the prices are very reasonable. The last book was for my Nikon D300. $13.50 delivered and it even had the wallet cards still attached. Try Amazon used. 4 stars. It would be 5 stars but for a two volume set of the Wright Brothers papers and only received one volume. The seller was a Goodwill, so they gave me my money back and had me drop off the book at my local Goodwill. I found another seller and got both volumes in LN condition.

About thirteen years ago, with the help of my new postmaster, I asked about shipping an aircraft main gear. He measured it and said it could go with just a tag through one of the axle mount holes. 38 days later I got a message from the buyer saying it had never arrived. Postmaster Mike called the P.O. nearest the buyers house and inquired about it. Amazingly, it was delivered the very next day!

How about just, "LV". Great image. Cute critter.

During a recent sale at KEH I bought a D300 in EX condition for $138. When I opened the box I could not find a single thing wrong, it was more like LN (like new). Unfortunately they have no stock on hand at this time.
Good luck,

As for the machineability of urethane causing ripping and tearing of the material if it is softer than A95 there's a simple solution; freeze it in dry ice. Works like a charm. You might have to re-freeze as the cutting warms it up but that shouldn't affect it dimensionally. If you're worried about that then cut all dimensions to, say, .010" (.25 mm) oversize, refreeze and finish. Frozen to -100 degrees F it machines like aluminum.

I've been very happy with my Zomei Q888. On Amazon I found a version that was in unpopular colors (orange and black) and that saved me $20. With the exception of the grips on the leg lock grips it's all metal and the quality of the machined parts is incredible. The legs are round tubing, not some custom extrusion for which there is no replacement. I wouldn't use it with a D850 and a long lens but for every camera and lens combo I have its more than enough. It's certainly not an RRS but for the price you cannot beat it.
