A well endowed secretary was have a difficult time with her typewriter. The repairman could find no problem with it. He observed her typing, asked her to leave the room for 5 minutes, lowered her chair by 5 turns. She has had no problems since!

Try asking jtoolman on the web. He knows more about printers than anyone. Look on youtube.

No one mentioned UPS (uninterruptible power supply). Should be first thing in any system. Much cheaper than replacing hardware which fails.

It is a great printer. I have a 4880, very similar. If you have leftover print carts I can use them.

Maybe this will add some perspective.
Total world motor vehicle fatalities were 1,350,000 in 2016 per
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_traffic-related_death_rate.
Why is this not included in the statistics?

If you want a home phone try google phone or OBI. OBI is about $40 - $50 one time purchase. It allows connection of your home phone(s) thru the internet. Get the cheapest satisfactory internet available in your area. If your tv is not a smart tv then use a Roku or Alexa fire TV. I also recommend YouTubeTV (this is not YouTube). It is a $50/mo subscription and allows DVR capability.

If all else fails and you can get to the bios/bootup screen, load linux from a USB or DVD. You can probably access your files from there.

Ditch Windows. You can download Linux for free. You can run most of your old software on it using a program called "wine". The old computer will be much faster and there are a large number of photo programs available including "Gimp" , "Digikam", "Darktable", and "Raw Therapee", all free. There are many distributions of Linux available, all free. I recommend "Linuxmint", the "Cinnamon" version. (download from www.linuxmint.com)
Everything can be done graphically (not using the dreaded terminal) and the menu is similar to the old Windows 7. I will be glad to help if needed. If the hardware is indeed faulty any old computer (almost) can be used. I recently bought a laptop with 16 GiB of ram and a 500 GiB hard drive for under $300. This is total investment, everything working

In SW Virginia we moved 3 miles from our old home. We filed for postal forwarding. After not receiving any mail at the new home for many days, we mailed a letter to our old address to see if forwarding works. After over a year we have never received it.
I had a package sent from the West coast which went UPS to Atlanta, then forwarded by surepost (means by mail). The tracking ended there. Never got it.
