Ya Gotta Love the Post Office for they work in mysterious ways.
I bought an item on eBay. Tracking says it will arrive tomorrow by 8 pm.
It shipped on the 7th from Spokane, WA. I wonder when it will arrive.
Bear in mind that I live 4 miles south of LAX.
The USPS Regional Facility, Los Angeles, CA is 14 miles from me.
Here is its path so far:

Obviously the Washington DC entries are errors since it's impossible for mail to go from the West coast to the east coast in such a short time. Let us know when the package is delivered.

I'm not sure what time frame you are referring to but the time between the item being reported in California and then in Washington DC was around 3 and a half hours; 8:55 am to 12:24 pm on the same day.

Doing math at 4:39 AM.

I stand corrected.

Neither rain, sleet, hail, nor snow.. add SARS-CoV-2 Pneumonia can stop the US Mail.

I get about 3 hours, 20 minutes.
(Then what about the time zone change...)

You neglected to account for the fact that 0855 am in Los Angeles is the same as 1155 am in Washington, DC. So that would make the time of travel for the mail piece to be roughly 29 minutes. Maybe USPS has brought the Space Shuttles out of mothballs?

Good point. I was originally thinking that maybe the USPS was using a SR71C, the little talked about cargo version of the world's fastest series of aircraft.

In my opinion, the SR71C would out perform the Shuttle. The Habu is an awesome machine.

I would love to see Fed-Ex, UPS or DSL shut down the USPS for good. I am not a friend of USPS!
