Beautiful shots. Great composition, colors are retained well, very sharp and crisp. Did you use any ND filters or just polarized filter?

Thanks.

Welcome to the UHH forum. I love your photos, especially the last one but for my personal taste I think you over did the saturation quite a bit. I know the canyon can be colorful but I have never seen it that colorful. You are correct though in that they are your photos and you are welcome to do whatever with them. They are still great.

Dennis

Dennis,
Thanks for the comment. These shots were taken at pretty long exposure, around 30 second, mostly f16 & ISO 100, sometimes with ND 10 stops filter so they tend to be a bit more contrast than short exposure shots. In the effort of increasing the sharpness by duplicating the layer and using multiply or overlay layer in Photoshop, I did also increase the saturation by accident. Even though they are a bit over saturated, I kind of like it. Also, the bursting star that on the 3rd photo was actually the full Moon, not The Sun. In any event, the Grand Canyon is really a magnificent place in all kinds of weather. I live in NYC so it was quite a trip for me to get out there last month. Hopefully I can be back this summer for the North Rim.
Regards,
Vu

Hello everyone,

I have been reading some of the posts for the last 2 months and thought may be I should contribute few photos that I took last month at the South Rim of Grand Canyon. It was after 2 1/2 days of heavy snow storm and I was lucky enough to get some not-so-usually photos of the South Rim cover with snow.

During editing process, I did increase the saturation, contrast, and sharpness. Everybody has his/her own taste so construction critique is welcome.

Thanks.

Vu

There is a State Park called Slide Rock State Park, see picture. There may be people either dipping their feet or swimming in water but the Red rock and stream should provide plenty of photo opportunities. FYI, I just returned from a trip to Arizona 2 weeks ago during the winter. It's depended on where you fly in but if schedule permits, besides the South Rim of the Grand Canyon & Sedona, you should also consider Page (Upper & Lower Antelope Canyon, Horseshoe bend, Glenn Canyon Dam), &Monument Valley.
