Through my lens ~ Italy, Capri.
Capri is a relatively small island off the coast of Italy easily accessible by boat from Naples, Sorrento, Positano, Amalfi or Solerno the time depending on which port one leaves from. It has been a resort island since Roman times.
There are two harbors Marina Piccola and Marina Grande (the larger one) and two main towns, Capri and Anacapri. A good share of tourists go up to Capri but not nearly as many go to Anacapri which is not too much farther, but more difficult to get there walking is difficult and not too safe as it's on the main road (very narrow with busses and some cars leaving little room for pedestrians). With that in mind, we went to Anacapri to avoid the crowds. One can walk up to Capri from the harbor (Grande) on a well paved, but steep path which we opted to do - good exercise!
Cesar Augustus developed Capri and built temples, villas, aqueducts and beautiful gardens. His successor Tiberius, built several villas, the most famous, Villa Jovis is one of the best preserved Roman era villain Italy today. Tiberius put himself in self exile on the island. Being convinced that he needed to return to Rome to stabilize a deteriorating senate, he died (more likely killed) before he ever reached Rome.
This set is primarily from Anacapri area - the other places gad too many tourists!

As we were walking down to the harbor, we saw this small shrine along the pathway. No indication why it was there, but it was interesting.

What great history and beautiful shots!!
Beautiful shots! Thanks for sharing them!
Beautiful shots of a heavenly place.
I was in Capri in 2002. I never made it to Anacapri. I was so captivated by
Capri. I felt like I was in a fairyland story book especially after I had a few Limoncellos on ice.
Ahhhhh the Silver Grotto in Capri ..... absolutely one of the most beautiful places in the world.
Beautiful shots. Great composition, colors are retained well, very sharp and crisp. Did you use any ND filters or just polarized filter?
Thanks.

You've done a wonderful job of capturing the atmosphere. Great shots.
Another terrific set and history lesson Ted. I just showed your Israel photos to my mom and she was impressed. Thank you for sharing once again.
