Great pictures!!

Question: what's your lens set up? A Macro lens, or a close focusing zoom?

A very well done portrait of a very beautiful young lady. As other mentioned, a little more light on the face or light direction. I perceived a little hint of shadows on the eyes ( the raccoon effect), but in your case ever so lite but there.

Good job anyways. Keep up with the beautiful and satisfying job you're doing.

That FM3a is widely regarded as the most coveted in the FM series, and is one of the last film cameras with a shutter that could be fully functional in manual mode, save for the light meter. However, adding power made it automatic in Aperture Priority mode. Used ones in excellent condition sell for over $1000, now.

Tell me about it. With a 50mm f1.4 AIS lens, I payed for my almost brand new FM3a that looks like it was never touched other than to get it out of the box around $1250. But is worthy.

Technically speaking, even though I have a Pentax LX, which to me was one of the greatest professional systems, and I have used it a lot, it can't compete with the ergonomics, looks, and some technical things that the FM3a has. Hands down, I prefer the FM3a.

The shutter speed dials on old film cameras did not require power. My Nikon F does not need a battery to make exposures. The F3 does, unless you use it at 1/80 second.

Many cameras were able to be used without batteries, specially in the higher tiers of a manufacture's line.

The argument of round knobs without power being nothing is nonsense. True to many cameras, but not to all throughout the years.

Normally, depending on the camera there would be certain limits as to what can be done without batteries, but certainly they could be used, e.g., Pentax LX, K1000, Nikon F, FM2, FM3a, Contax , and many more from all manufacturers.

They're not just useless knobs without batteries.

I have had the Z fc for the last two years and it is the most enjoyable camera I have ever owned. I will order a Zf for myself.

Indeed. For travel, the Zfc is the perfect compact, light, responsive camera that I own. I have owned more than what my list shows, and I can tell you that the Zfc, specially for outdoors travel is the best I ever used. Do to the lenses that I own my Zfc is relegated for outdoors, while my Df although not compact by any means is my nighttime/indoors king.

Whenever I travel, I bring both of these cameras. I'd need to actually have the Zf in my hands to compare how much bigger, and the weight against the Zfc is because my aim is a FF (full frame) Mirroless, the Zf seems to be the ticket for me once they have it in chrome.

I just saw an advert for the new Nikon Zf series of full-frame mirrorless cameras and they're really pushing this 'retro-look'. I don't know, but first off, one of the reasons, at least this is how I see it, in going mirrorless was so that camera designers would no longer be locked into a configuration dictated by the optical path of a mirror and viewfinder.

And to make this 'retro-look' even more pronounced, it appears that they're moving more of the controls back to dedicated knobs on the top of the camera. All they're missing is a faux film-advance and hinge on the side of the body.

Now I'll be the first to acknowledge that the LCD screen-based menu systems on many digital cameras can be frustrating (after all, I own Sony cameras ;-) but things have gotten better and with the introduction of customizable buttons (my Sony a6500 has three), you can at least program the most common option settings that you need quick access to.

Anyway, what do others think of this effort...

Disclaimer: I've never owned a Nikon, film-based or otherwise, and have been mirrorless since 2013 when I bought a Sony NEX-3N. My current mainline camera is a Sony a6500, but I've still got an a6000 and a A65 DSLR, which are occasionally called into service.

To see what I mean about this Nikon 'retro-look', here's what the new Zf looks like. Note that it's also available in all-black so at least they're not going all the way back into camera history to get this new look:

I have the Nikon Df, Zfc, and the film FM3a, all in chrome. I prefer this type of camera controls because it sucks to be accessing menus in order to do what you want to do. I'm a manual settings guy. I prefer to set my own exposures on a digital camera controls like if I were ysing the Nikon FM3a or the Pentax LX, is fast and easy to set your values on the fly by just turning the control knobs. Although my D750 is very easy to manually control/adjust.

I'll be waiting for the Zf chrome to be released because I like them chrome. See below picture of my cameras.

I think the have a ZFc

Yes.
If you look at the picture I posted I already have it, but the Zfc is not a Full Frame (FF) camera; which is the reason why I will wait until the Zf is available in chrome style.

I will wait until they come up with the chrome version, since that's what I aesthetically like, just like it's siblings.

I am a Nikon and Pentax shooter. Pentax for decades , Nikon since 2017.

After I waited an eternity for Pentax to come with a FF Digital camera I went Nikon for my first ( for me) digital camera, I already have bought digital Pentax SLRs for my daughters.

Although Pentax cameras are solid excellent cameras, specially for the money, they still lag behind in some aspects such as autofocus in comparison to the competition. It seems that with their new K3 III, they did much better, and it holds its own in comparison to others.

But I think that personally, I wouldn't go back to Pentax. I really love the retro look of Nikon offerings, the Df, Zfc, and now the upcoming Zf. I really like the feeling of having a digital camera that looks like my manual SLRs film cameras. I feel like I get the best of both worlds, when I'm using my Df, or my Zfc. Something that I don't get at all when I occasionally use my daughters cameras just for the heck of it

I like the way the EVF shows changes in exposure.

Indeed. I like it too. But it has taken me a little while to get used to that. Occasionally, it takes a little time for my brain to adnowledge it, while it defaults into what the ?? Just happened.

Before I bought the Zfc I was concerned with the viewfinder not being optical. When I found that my local Best Buy had it, I went to check it. After hands on experience at the store I found out that the electronic viewfinder is very good. I saw no issues. I still prefer an optical viewfinder, though, but that might be psychological, rather than an actual physical reason as to why.

Now if the FF Zf materializes, it looks like I will have to wait until they bring a chrome model. Hopefully, I won't have to wait for too long.

Most, but not all. I mistakenly bought this Dell tower not knowing that I could not add optical drives. I can add HDD or SSD, though, and I did. You just have to read the description carefully. To be certain, contact the seller. If it has any drive at all, you can replace it with a larger, faster drive. The thing is, you want to be able to have at least two drives - OS and data.

Dell Computers are not open source nor built to specifications. They are proprietary OEM where there's little to choose from. Eg., You can't go to Dell and ask for a computer with this case, this motherboard, this CPU, this video card, this memory, etc. If you want something like that from Dell you would have to go to their Alienware division; which in my opinion are too expensive for what they are giving you. You could do a lot better money wise somewhere else.
