It depends.....
Some are not expandable, some have no extra bays for drives.
The HP I recently purchased stated how many bays were in it: two bays. It came with a 1TB HD in one bay and one open bay, in which I put a 2TB HD (both are SATA).
Best to check the specs. HOPEFULLY they state this. (Not all do.)

My experience leads me to believe should have somebody custom build for you. Might cost a little more, but you get exactly what you want.

What in the world is an "svs"?

Hello
A good place to look would be on Google for computer cases or parts. You can pick your parts and brand.
1. Intel i5 or i7
2. AMD
3. Mother's boards are plenty to choose from.

Here Is just one site to look at or as I noted search on Google or Amazon for what you want.

Go to one of the computer builders website, where they give tons of options for you to Tailor your computer requirements and needs to your specifications and $$$$.

AVA Direct, PC builders, Origin PC, Cyber Power, Main Gear, to name a few . You will get a much better product for the money, one that is not proprietary where you swap parts later on for better, or more updated ones. With your HP, apple's, etc. You don't have as much options, if any, and way more expensive. When I got tired of keeping up with the technology building myself my own towers, I went the online builder's route. I just pick what I want from the list of compatible parts, and that's it.

I especially like Cooler Master towers - they have models from $60 to $400, depending on your needs. BTW, they make excellent CPU coolers as well.

Most, but not all. I mistakenly bought this Dell tower not knowing that I could not add optical drives. I can add HDD or SSD, though, and I did. You just have to read the description carefully. To be certain, contact the seller. If it has any drive at all, you can replace it with a larger, faster drive. The thing is, you want to be able to have at least two drives - OS and data.

Curious - do you move your "user" data, like documents, to the data drive or leave it on the system drive and place all other data on the data drive. ie. C:\users\<username>\Documents
Windows expects a user folder on C: by default.

I'd recommend a cMacpro. Dual Xeons, big ram capacity, four basic bay slides. The OG sleds for the drive bays are drying up. but there are folk out there printing replacements. The bracket holding the optical drive has two sata connections- I put my booter SSD in there. Yeah they're Macs- they run Windows very nicely!
I had also picked up another Dell server tower- same reason. Open door, pop in drive, runs.

I do lowball3rd party work for consumers- ram and CPU upgrades, and these days a lot of SSD upgrades.
New PCs? "Set and forget". Capacity? Two drives, low ram, mobo graphics. Made for emailers and TikTokers.
Look fo server type towers not just "stood on end" desktops.
Or just get en external enclosure. Drives in and out and not touch your unit.
