I remember the milk bottles on the front porch. Our milk always had the cream on the top. My much older sister lived one house away and she always got the homogenized milk and I liked it better than what we got. I asked Mama to get that kind and she said that it cost more. Well then I tried to get her to get me some chocolate milk from the milk man like my sister did. You guessed it that cost more, too and I should just use the chocolate powder. Then there was the time my 2 nephews got into a pushing match on the front porch and broke all of mama's milk bottles. I got out of there before I got blamed. Then I got married, had a baby and bought a house that wasn't close to a store so I had a milkman. By that time all I could get was homogenized milk. Didn't get chocolate milk, it cost more. We only had one car and hubby used it to get to work.

Shot these while they were being fed. The keeper was up on a Platform and coaxed the bear into various poses.

Such beautiful animals. I hope we can save the ones in the wild.

Thanks for the visit khm, our 5 boys 1 girl, would flip if they ever left our house!
Your avatar is beautiful, I'm assuming she's one of your 3?
:-D

Yes, she is #2 in age. We have a black Persian who is 14 she is the one that loves to travel. She was only 10 weeks old when she went for her first trip. Then TT my avatar is 13 and we have one that is a full sister to TT but from the next litter. Baby is brown where TT is white and dark brown where TT is grey. Baby and TT were both rescues. When I took them to be checked by the Vet. he had never seen ear mites as bad as those 2 had. Had them both checked out before I would let them near Missy my old lady thou she wasn't old when we got the other 2. I could tell TT wasn't used to getting enough to eat. Baby was just being weaned so she hadn't gone hungry yet. I keep dry food out all of the time. Then at 9 am and 5 pm they get their treats. Believe me they can tell time except for about a week in the fall when they change the time.

Nice!! And I envy you both, Angela and Larry, for the relationship you have with your animals. My wife and I gave up on having pets for the freedom of travelling whenever and for any length of time. We do still miss and often talk about those pets we had back in the days we worked and stayed home more, but . . .

We wish you ALL a very merry CHRISTMAS season!!

We have 3 kitty girls that we take on trips in the motorhome with us. One of them likes it so much that we have to watch that she doesn't get in the motorhome any time the door is opened. Then one of them tolerates it and the third one is ok with it after a few days.

I know mayflies are not prevalent in your neck of the woods like they are in the Northern climes but you do have a few (http://www.npwrc.usgs.gov/resource/distr/insects/mfly/la/toc.htm#caenidae). Mayflies, where present, represent a large part of the trouts diet. They have an incomplete metamorphosis but the two stages (nymph and adult) they have are highly sought out by trout. Of course, commercially, they are a large attraction as well.

Pg 31 Wow I didn't think we had them. I've never seen them that I know of. That map didn't show them in any of the parishes that I've lived in. A total of 3. The only thing that I've seen with so many at one time was mosquitoes.

Great. I tie a lot of mayflies and fish them for trout.

Pg. 26 We don't have mayflies down here that I know of. Got introduced to them this past summer while in your state. They were an experience. We had a great time.

Thanks. When we first got her she was all white. Over time she changed. Would you believe she was a rescue. We have one of her sisters who is brown where TT is white and dark brown where TT is dark grey.
