My close up setting gives me selective focus.

8-)

I was more than 15' away, but I left the setting on close up and zoomed.

These are wonderful examples of selective focus Clicker. This should be a great challenge for many.

Hey there! Good to see you working on this! I love the "mood" of these...the color and simplicity. Yes, I would probably crop #1 so only the subject on the right is showing. #2 can be left centered or you could crop it so part of the right side is gone. I like the "bokeh" on the left. Now...that said...I find that the subjects in both are just slightly out of focus. I may be wrong, and if so, I hope someone corrects me! It is too bad because I really like what you are doing! I can't see what your settings were. Do you have a manual focus? If so focus manually and once you have the subject pretty much in focus and if you have the "spot focus" you can then turn to auto focus and the camera should finish focusing for you. Hope that makes sense. It is what I do if I cannot see well enough to be sure I am in focus. Hope this helps. I truly like what you have done and you certainly have the "theory" down. Keep it up Mom!

Clicker, this challenge is going to be another fun one. I too have a weed that I shot today. Maybe tomorrow it will warm up some and I can get out and try again.
