Have been to Bryce and Zion in Nov. 3 years ago. Cold and some snow at night but beautiful during the day. last year (late May, early June) spent two weeks and visited five National parks. What worked for us was to spend 3-4 days in an area and take day trips to the parks near by. Moab worked for us as there is much to see near by plus good restaurants and even a camera shop. There is a park called Dead Horse Point that is a MUST SEE. It is off the beaten path. We were turned on to it by a park ranger. You can also write to Utah state parks and they will send you raft of information.
I can't wait to go back
Have a great trip!

Being a wearer of glasses for the last 45 years when I make my annual visits to the optometrist/opthamologist I usually receive a container of anti-reflective glass cleaner and a microfiber cloth. Have been using this cleaner with great success on my camera lenses. Canon advises using either specific lense cleaning tissue with lense cleaning solution or MICORFIBRE CLOTH. No mention of Q-tips.

Wow! Incredible pictures. How did you get the eagle to sit so long? Bought a 6D two months ago and have not had the opportunity to use it much. Reinforces my faith in the 6D's capability to take high quality pictures. Thanks for sharing.
Happy Holidays.

I was 11 1/2 yrs old and visiting relatives in Sheepshead Bay in Brooklyn. Every Sunday we would listen to a Hawaiian station (Royal Hawaiians/Don Ho I think) so we heard what I believe was the actual attack. Everyone was stunned. Am 84+ and will never forget that day.

Just went through my camera bag and threw out several plastic tubes that held 35mm film cartridges. The last time I used kodachrome/ektachrome film was on a photo safari trip to africa (1996) where I shot 750 pictures (20 rolls X 36+ exposures) with my T90 and then had to wait 2 weeks because I wanted the film processed by a Kodak lab. After that if you wanted to to REALLY see the pictures you had to insert them in a tray or carousel (a laborious task!) so you view them on a screen. While you lived through it, it was wonderful but digital gives photography a whole new dimension.

Fotodiox makes an adapter that allows FD lenses to mount to eos bodies. Their website is www.fotodiox.com. You might try them.

It was already mentioned but you could spend some serious time at the zoo which covers a lot of ground. Also be aware that the distance from San Diego to Carmel is in the neighborhood of 500 miles and hiway 101 is never quick.

Hi, silver 0514,
Spent 26 days in Italy May, June 2013, seven days of which were on a five masted sailing ship on the Amalfi Coast. Took my Canon 50D and G11. Took 3 lenses, one of which was an 18-200mm EF-is lense and never took it off the camera. Brought a longer telephoto (90-300mm) and rarely used it.
Took over 1k pictures with the 50D, 350 with the g11.
Have a great trip.

Having been victimized by the vagaries of pc's with windows I have taken a different tack. Even though i have backed up my images to a seagate external HD and copied them to a Lenovo laptop I also copied the more precious images (to me) to CD's. So now i actually have four files of photos: desktop, laptop, xternal HD, and CD"s. Just a thought
