Tony Northrups book Stunning Digital Photography is a great help. He and Chelsea (his wife) also has many videos on You Tube. They also do a live show on You Tube every Thursday evening pertaining to a particular subject.

I shoot a lot of sports, mostly outdoor in bright light. Do shoot some indoor..Use my 7DII for both. Outdoor for baseball use a 70-200 f4 L and a 1.4X extender when needed...Indoor use a 70-200 f2.8...Have used a 2X extender and did not like the results...7DII gives the best sports results... Have tried the 5DII and the results were not acceptable to me for sports...

Another eneloop user. Have been using them in my speedlites and transmitter for years. Have never had one leak. The recycle time is seconds, do carry an extra dozen fully charged in my bag just in case but rarely need them. I don't trust alkaline batteries as they leak. Investment in a good speedlite why not invest in a good rechargeable that doesn't leak and damage your flash or any other component that takes batteries.

The Canon Pro-100 is a great printer which I use for photos. Also own a Maxify Canon for everyday use. I've tried the Maxify for photos and it does OK but the Pro is much better. I can also say STAY away from 3rd party ink. Learned my lesson years ago when I was using a Kodak printer. The 3rd party ink junked up my printer so bad it was not usable and had to trash my 2 year old printer because of the cheap ink...Spend the extra on ink and you will not be sorry...

I shoot a lot of sports photography and the 7D II is my go to camera. For outdoor sports use a Canon 70-200 F4 L and find that the best lens for my needs with great results. Indoor use a Tamron 70-200 f 2.8 also great results. Use a 1.4X converter when needed adding a stop and it works quite well outdoors. Tried a Canon 2X no good.....Did not like the results adding 2 stops...Sold that one. If shooting sports action the 7D II is the camera....

Have 2 Yongnuo 685's and a YN622C-TX flash controller. Use them with my Canon cameras, mostly off camera and have not had any issues with them. Don't use flash a lot but I bought this setup to replace a Canon Speedlite that no longer functioned. This setup cost less than one speedlite and I'm satisfied with it.

Find Abe's of Maine and 42nd Street Photo not to be reputable dealers (both in the same category) as I have in the past purchased from them. Might save a few bucks but hope you don't need any warranty work done. Adorama, B&H, and KEH (for used) are all great companies to deal with but my go to company is Cameta. Went there years ago and was very impressed with their selection and knowledge. Enzo has always taken care of my needs and very honest. For new gear I always use Cameta used gear have had much luck with KEH...Like both their warranties and guarantees...

Over the years tried to retrieve shutter counts on my Canon cameras. Tried various programs and sent pixs to be analysed through various companies with no success. Recently I sent a Camera body to Canon for a sensor cleaning and at the last minute stuck a sticky note on the form requesting the click count. They do not charge for this (click count) service. Received my camera back in less than a week and on the same sticky note hand written was my click count. Don't know why Canon makes this such a mystery but they do. Is it really that important? If your camera is functioning properly does it really make a difference? Is it worth the worry that's it's going to die tomorrow because of click count? If you are trying to sell it and the buyer needs to know, or you just want to have that information send it to Canon and they will give you that exact count. You might have to pay shipping but you have your exact click count...This particular body now has over 100,000 clicks on it and still functions as when I first purchased it. Take care of your equipment and it will last...

I'm a Canon owner and have never had a problem with their customer service. Have used it a few times under warranty and not under warranty. I find their prices for repair fair. 2 Years ago sent a video camera in for repair, they called me on the phone to discuss the issue (the call surprised me) and said it was under the warranty. 3 months ago I sent my old 5D1 with over 98,000 clicks on it for a tuneup. It needed a sensor cleaning and another issue I had with the auto focus. Got an email from them with in 24 hours after receiving it explaining what needed to be done and the price for the repairs. They also put my camera through their many test points to check if any other issues. 24 hours later my camera was on its way home. Their customer service is the best IMO as they keep you posted each step they take. Yes it cost me $150.00 but my camera works as new and to me worth getting it tuned up and the auto focus fixed...Yep it's old but doesn't mean it dead and is one of my favorite Canons I own...

I shoot a 7dII and had a 7D. Have used Lexar cards in all my cameras, both SD and CF and have never had one fail me. All I use is the Lexar Professional 1066x UDMA7's. If the firmware is up to date, and you tried different cards (with the same results) and settings are all in place it might be an issue with your camera and time to have it visit the Canon Doctor...I have used their services a few times and always have had my cameras and lenses returned 100% fixed. They have the best customer service, keep you updated every step during the repair and I even had them call me with updates. Turn around time is amazing...

I shoot a lot of sports, most outdoor but do shoot indoor. Outdoor shoot baseball and football, indoor volleyball and (very little) basketball. Canon's 7DII covers my needs, like the 10 fps. Lens I prefer for outdoor is a Canon 70-200 f4L (non stabilized). Usually hand hold it with no problems but do carry a monopod. That lens can be purchased used from KEH at a very reasonable price. Indoor needed a different lens so got a Tamron 70-200 f2.8 (stabilized). Seems redundant but the results indoors were amazingly much better being in lower light. If I had to do over again the Canon 70-200 f2.8 L would be my choice but seeing I already had the f4 a couple years and liked it I kept it and purchased the lighly used Tamron from Cameta Camera. The indoor setup, camera, lens and battery grip does have some weight to it.

I own a Sigma 24-70 it is a great lens. For a 70-200 I would suggest a Tamron 70-200mm f2.8 G2, own one and use it on my Canon bodies. It's a great lens at a reasonable price.
