I love the black and white one because of all the gray tones.. and the color photo just looks so smooth!

The easiest and cheapest way is with softboxes. I bought a used setup for $100. 2 lights (softboxes) and stands. Bought 2 more stands off ebay and made my own backdrop setup! I enjoy constant lighting because what you see is what you get.

Take your remote that plugs in (splice into it, cut and shorten the wire) and tape it (Gorilla Tape) or epoxy it to the other side of the camera or bracket. Wont be pretty but it will work!

I think some of you are missing the point? All you people that are saying this is garbage are proving the point. Whether it is good art or bad is in the eye of each person. If you question why the artist thinks his idea is an important one is all that's important. An artist doesn't necessarily need "your" approval for it to be art. Just as your pictures that you think are great another can say they are not. What he has created has obvious it made you think even if its negative. I live in Cleveland and at the Art Gallery here there is a painting that's been hanging there for years. Its a big white canvas and all it has on it is one little red dot. It is hailed as brilliant by art critics all over the world for its simplicity. So on the same note is ancient cave art considered art? Yes it is. It was obviously some early Indian or early cave mans way of of getting an image/idea from his head to another persons. Is a child's finger painting art? Yes it is in the same way. Also I do not believe there are a million pictures here. I would guess that it has a fabric support under it and a small amount of photos are attached to it to make it look like a million. Either way it is art. Good art or not again is in the eye of each person.

As an artist myself...anything YOUR mind creates is art. This may not be fine art to many but to the artist it is an expression of a thought. Just like when photographers take endless pictures of babies, fall leaves and plain old rocks.. get my point? If it feels good we paint it draw it or photograph it. THAT IS WHAT ART IS!
P.S.... the exhibit does nothing for me.. but I respect what he is trying to communicate.

I'm all for photos going for a lot of money, but... there has to be more to this story.. maybe he lost a bet? Maybe it was a charity auction? Other than that all I can guess is its another very wealthy person with too much money and time on their hands...lol

I have photographed many weddings and if I myself were getting married again I would have no problem letting others have cameras. As long as they are not getting into the way of my formal pictures it would be fine. I would not hire a photographer that had this in a contract either. If I were at a wedding where I was told to put my camera away I would leave. Just my opinion

After reading all the comments I wouldn't change a thing I did.. Yes I could have confronted them and made my clients uneasy.. I could have started an argument in many ways but when I left my clients weren't aware that anything had happened and I've since had another session with them. If I had confronted them and gotten into a argument most clients would prob be intimidated by the experience and shied away. Trust me folks, as I said earlier if I had been alone there would have been a confrontation.. maybe a good squirt of a can of silver spray paint or a small push into the river.. but I protected my clients and I walked away the bigger person and won in the end. Enough said...lol

If it had been just me and not with my clients I would have probably just gently shoved em out of the way after a few choice words but I was thinking totally of my clients well being.. luckily where Im at I have many options... next time will be different!

I agree that using a gun is a life changing event... so is death at the hands of someone else. I would rather deal with all the legal issues later but at least Im alive...

I do a lot of urban art photography in the Cleveland area with much industrial sprawl. I go to many places on my own to get the shots I want. I too carry a gun most of these times even with a friend. Twice I have been told to hand the camera over and all I had to do was produce the gun and the problem was solved. Once I happened to start filming a bar fight and without the gun I probably would have been in trouble. Sorry to say in this day and age if you go to these places its almost a necessity! Stay safe people!

I couldn't believe last weekend... I was out shooting a session at a local park. A beautiful place with fall foliage, a river, a tranquil stream leading into a river.. even a nice stone bridge. So there I was enjoying my session when I was invaded by three other "Professional" photographers with clients, that actually walked right in front of me while shooting and proceeded to set up there shots! I ended up moving not wanting to cause a scene and it happened again with another photographer. The third time we just left as I did not want to show my anger in front of my client and her children. I understand business but if It had been me I could never imagine doing that to another photographer. It is RUDE and INCONSIDERATE! To me that location is in use. That would be no different than me walking onto a set, moving their model and putting mine in place.. has this happened to anyone else? Next time I will take action even if I have to remove them from my shot...
