Can’t believe James Burton is not in the list.

Don’t go to Versailles on a Monday, it’s closed. I made that mistake many years ago.
Fortunately I was with a very attractive young lady, so we booked into a nearby hotel and found things to occupy our time until Tuesday. 😉

A tip I always consider when about to embark in any DIY work. ‘What is the worst possible scenario that could occur and how much would it cost to fix it.’

A drive North or South on the Wild Atlantic Way along the West coast of Ireland is quite special.
If you’re a golfer, there are some amazing courses to play along the way.

Simple fix: Wash them when stopped, before zooming.
(Works for me.)

You’ve obviously never been driving on a high speed road and had your windscreen view obliterated by filthy spray from a passing truck. In these circumstances it’s essential to have a powerful washer spray to enable essential and immediate vision. Stopping to clean your screen in such circumstances as you suggest would be is a very dangerous option.

I know absolutely nothing about baseball and many years ago an American friend took me to a Red Socks game. After all the innings, the teams were tied and I started picking up all my stuff to leave. “Sit down “ he said, “It’s not over.” The Red Socks won with a home run scored around 1.30am. I’d heard of extra time in UK soccer games, but that’s just minutes, not hours.

Yes, I have one and ensure all wood is below 15% moisture before it goes onto the log burner. Wetter wood does not burn efficiently, creates less heat, will clog up the chimney more quickly and pollute the environment.

Don’t be put off by the often quirky names for craft beers. We have a craft beer brewery near to us that originated in a disused coffin makers shop. Inevitably one of their beers is called ‘Coffin’ with the image of one on the label.

I wonder though where all the photos will be in 100 years time.
I have a fear that most will be lost in the ether, taking with them the record of a massive part of our history.

Guess it all to do with health and safety and someone has deemed that 5lb bags a too heavy for the average person to lift safely. 😂😂

Summer Solstice here in South Africa too. A day of cloudless skies and temperatures just above 30c (or 86f for you guys in the States).

With the power supply problems in South Africa where currently we lose power in scheduled two and four hour slots an alternative is essential. We run on 240/50 volts and I bought a 2.4Kw inverter. I have all TV, audio and computers connected to it. Last evening when the power went off at 6.00pm for four hours and we were watching TV and never noticed it had happened. The same when power returns and the inverter starts to charge up again. After four hours without power, there was still way over 75% power remaining in the inverter.

My grandson is a pilot with the European company, TUI. They bought original versions of the 737 Max plane and his update briefing via Boeing amounted to two sheets of information.
They never did fly the original version and after Boeing’s modification, the two sheets of paper became two full days of update training.

…..and to listen to a Black Soprano singing, and bringing everyone to tears, check out Pretty Yende.
She’s currently singing the role of Violetta in La Traviata at the San Francisco Opera. Tonight is the first night and I’d do almost anything to be there.
Check her out, her school teacher told her she couldn’t sing, but after studying with the Cape Town Opera has become one of the World’s leading sopranos. Her role of Lucia in Lucia De Lammermoor is the absolute best. I heard her perform this in a concert performance of the opera at the Artscape Theatre in Cape Town a year or two ago with the Cape Town
Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Richard Bonynge, the husband of the late great Joan Sutherland.
